“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

We stayed here on our first family vacation with our four month old son and it was awesome. David and his staff took care of us for the week we stayed with them. The rooms were nice and clean and taken care of each day. The staff was able to arrange food and transportation whenever we needed it and they would give recommendations as well. The Diva Spa they sent me to was out of this world. It is off a busy road but that doesn't make it a problem it is easy for all the taxis to find. There are roosters so if you wake up easily earplugs are a must. The breakfast was great and the ladies were nice a pleasant. We will definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: We had a room that faced the ocean and it was awesome!

“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We stayed here at the start of our trip and had a great experience. David was so helpful. We took his advice for restuarants and things to do for the rest our trip and ended up coming back to stay the last night again. It's off a busy road but fairly quiet. There is a rooster in the morning but I just put in my ear plugs and was fine. The staff were very helpful with hiring scooters/ taxi's. Rooms were clean and sufficient. Breakfast was good. Would go back for sure.

Room Tip: I reccommend a room by the pool.

“"Will be back"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I stayed at Ellis for a week on the strength of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and it ticked all the boxes I expected it to. It is located in a busy area and the beach isn't lapping at your dodrstep by any means. However the residential alleys and retail outlets on either side of the busy bypass are interesting in themselves to explore. The only dogs I saw ( which did follow me up the ,far from "sinister", alley to the Hotel) only posed a threat that their collective tail wagging might have bumped me. The rooms are a great size and really, really clean, bathrooms clean - no odours as mentioned by one other review, water pressure took a little while to come through but no big deal. The rooftop terrace is so relaxing and the view is quite mesmerising. Breakfasts are freshly made and ( in my opinion) just the right size with healthy choices . Staff are friendly and know their jobs, not overbearing just very competant and all seem to love where they work - a good sign. I am looking forward to taking my husband back next year. David was helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble, calling taxis, organising drivers etc. Earplugs are an idea :Bali = roosters !

“So good we went back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

We went here for our first night in Bali. Friendly staff and the room was good quality for the price. It is a little hard to find but there will soon be a big bank in front so will be lots easier to find.
The next morning we got up slowly had breaky and went for a swim. Had a great chat to David, the owner, and he gave us some great tips and recommendations. He also sorted out exchanging some money for us.
We ended up going back after we got over the hustle and bustle of Seminyak. Again they were really friendly and accommodating. Took David's recommendation again and took a ride down the Birkit Peninsula to a few beaches. A great way to end our holiday. The only reason they deserve less stars is because the high rating will make it hard to book! ;)
Oh yea there is a rooster out back, like most of Bali, so take some ear phones if you don't want a 6-7am wake up call.

Room Tip: I would probably take a pool room next time.

“Awesome place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Firstly the location isn't 5 star but it has a view north and it's really handy to a bunch of places by taxi.

David the boss is more like that mate you are visiting in Bali. Always has the time to give you sound, no B.S. advice and recommended too many great things for us to see, eat and do to list here.

They hooked us up with bikes, rental car etc. at decent rates.

Definitely check out their massuse.
Worth every penny.

We stayed with our then 18month old and everything possible was done to accommodate us.
And as others have said you won't get a better breakfast in Bali in this price bracket (or probably any other).
Highly highly recommend Ellie's !!
