It's not a fancy place for sure, they don't even have a hair dry in the room. But sfaff there are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. Remember to ask for a room on the second floor which is much nicer than the first floor one.

If you travel a lot and like to save on accommodation by staying in clean comfy 3 star hotels, quiet but fairly central to everything, then Bali Ayu is a little gem. Don't bother upgrading to a villa or superior room, there's barely any difference to a deluxe. The deluxe has a pretty outdoor bathroom (try to get a downstairs room for a better outdoor effect), a spacious interior, tv and airconditioner. The restaurant/sports bar has an excellent chef, the breakfast menu may not be full but has plenty to choose from and room service is also available.

There may have been some hiccups with check in, the safe may not work, the padlocks on the room doors were a bit of a surprise but the staff were honest, friendly and helpful. We made some good friends this trip as our family of 15 (from 3yo nephew through to 64yo Nan) stayed at Bali Ayu for 16 days and never considered changing hotels. Teenagers were happy with free wifi at reception, pool, dvd players, menu choices and pool table and the littlies had access to a shallow paddle pool.

Would recommend it to friends who don't need 5 star accommodation.

Close to the beach, a couple of pools and a decent breakfast. The rooms are basic but generally clean.

I booked this hotel through a hotel site and saw nice photos of the newly renovated rooms labeled 'Guest room.' When we got there though, we saw that our room was basic, and didn't even have a shower curtain so that when you shower, the toilet bowl gets wet too. It has a good location though, near many shops and restaurants in Seminyak. We went around the property and saw the nice villas though, so maybe you should book that to avoid disappointment.
