“Excellent”

Stayed here for 8 wonderful nights, last week. The Hotel is located about 10 mins drive just outside the centre of Seminyak. I have read some of the reviews previous and am concerned with them.

First off, yes it is outside the centre but surely any traveller these days checks the location of the hotel. With the Dawn of google maps etc this is a no brainer for any traveller.
And come on, a taxi journey only cost approx $ 1.50 into the centre. And $ 1.80 to the beach.

There is a Free drop off service 3 times a day.

I do agree that the cock crowing is a little bit annoying. We were in room 111 and it didn't seem to bad to us however I wouldn't have like to have a room closer to it.

The room was excellent condition. Everything worked perfectly for us including the free Wifi.

The bathroom was open however you are protected from the view of other guest by a large canopy( in our room anyway) and it was quiet refreshing

The staff were excellent. Very professional and friendly. A compliment to the hotel.

A previous reviewer said that he was asked to pay in advance. This was not the case with us. We paid on departure.

I am an experienced traveller who has stayed in various different hotel, B&B's and hostels throughout the world and I would recommend the seri suites ( room 111 ) to anyone.

I am also a hotel General Manager with over 17 years experience in the field in Ireland.

Yes it's outside the city centre, but I knew that before I arrived. Come on if you can afford the holiday, then you can afford the taxi, probably the cheapest around.

Bali itself is a wonderful experience and the Seri suite was the perfect base for us to explore the treasures that it has to offer.

Good job, we hope to return soon

“Relaxing and peaceful-no!”

I wish I had read some reviews prior to booking a 10 night stay which commenced on the 6th August 2011. I checked out on the 7th.

A bit if advice, if they ask you to pay upfront, only pay for one night incase your not happy. I made the mistake of paying for half of my stay, it then took 11 days for a refund.

The roosters crowing at all hours was very frustrating!

Open bathrooms where you can see guests on the veranda agasent is concerning and has privacy issues.

Rooms need an urgent upgrade, furniture repaired as the door on the fridge cupboard was hanging off.

There were farmers burning off in the fields which made it impossible to sit outside on the veranda, I assume this is a regular occurrence.

I would not recommend this hotel for the above reasons, but also the long distance and location from the centre of seminyak.

“Helpful staff but place is due for a facelift”

My partner and I stayed at The Seri Suites for 9 nights. We booked a Deluxe Suite which is located on the 2nd floor and comes with a private veranda, AC, en-suite bathroom, satellite TV, DVD/CD player, WiFi and complimentary breakfast.

I booked The Seri Suites though wotif.com and did not realise how far it was from the main dining/shopping strip of Seminyak. The Seri Suites is located in a rural area and is approx 10-15 minutes drive by taxi to Seminyak. There is a complimentary shuttle service to Seminyak which leaves The Seri Suites at 10:30am, 12:30am and 1:30pm however it is a drop off service only.

Positives:
- Staff were friendly and helpful and helped us to arrange transport on a daily basis and also gave suggestions on things to do in Bali as it was our first time there
- Room was large and comfortable and were cleaned on a daily basis
- Laundry service is amazing! Each piece of clothing is charged separately however if you get the laundry bag to reception before 11am it will be done by 8am the next day
- Free shuttle service to Seminyak daily

Negatives:
- No shopping/dining areas within walking distance
- Access to the room is via a stairway which is quite steep so not suitable for elderly guests, it is also difficult to carry suitcases up and down the stairway
- En-Suite bathroom is open air as one side of the bathroom wall only runs half way up, this meant mosquitoes, ants and geckos were a daily sight in the bathroom for us. I was also conscious going to the toilet or showering as I could see the veranda of the guests next door when stepping into the bath tub and could hear conversations on the other side of the wall
- Due to location being rural you can hear dogs barking and a rooster that crows all hours... even at night!
- Room needs upgrading, tv cabinet door falling off, peeling paint in bathroom, bath towels are old and grey and just general wear and tear

I would not say that our overall experience was negative however due to location I would not stay here again as I would prefer to be in a more convenient location where everything is within walking distance.

Room Tip: Research your accomodation, there are plenty of brand new villas in Seminyak at a low cost

“Lovely hotel, warm personnel”

We stayed at the Seri Suites a couple of weeks ago, the room was lovely and had a huge terrace. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and helpful. The negative points however were that the bed was a little hard, the linen and towels were very average, breakfast very basic and its location meant having to take taxis all the time (to go out to eat, to the beach etc....) The most negative point of all is the hens next door that does not stop growling, especially in the mornings, a real nightmare!!!! They have a lovely pool, which is very calm and we used it a lot. Overall, we would recommend this hotel, it is relatively good value for money, but only for a few days.

“Great if you're a backpacker looking for a bit more”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

The photos on the website are deceptive. The place needs a lick of paint, new linen, to repair the small pool and to take over the farm next door with the rooster.

While we stayed there, we were only able to sleep between dawn and dusk because of the rooster next door. Before 7am because of the chattering hotel staff waiting for rooms to vacate to make them up and also for the building site next door. One Australian couple checked out after 20 minutes due to the noise.

The rooms while nice upstairs with a balcony were very dark downstairs. All needed new linen - were the sheets and towels really meant to be grey? We didn't think so as some were white.

A couple of backpackers who stayed there said to us that it was a treat after many places they'd been, and for the price was great value. Nice place, but a false economy.
