Stayed there 2 nights recently when I went to Mussoorie on business. They have a small brochure on the table advertising wi-fi, but over my 3 days over there couldn't get connected. The hotel staff was least bothered about it, and it was always "We'll check and get back to you." Sadly, the get back didn't happen. Also, I paid for the higher category room, and the least I expected was a room with a nice view. Got one with nothing, AT ALL. It's a shame that a renowned corporate like ITC has stooped to such levels of service. Gimme Taj or Oberoi any day. While this could be over-looked if I was having a particularly good day, what was even more appalling and unforgiveable was the accounts. I paid the full room charges and taxes via RTGS a week before I went, and sent them a mail with the details. They sent a reconfirmation mail to me after that. At the time of checkout, the girl at the front desk forced me to pay the entire amount again, effectively charging me twice for the rooms. I even gave her the bank statement showing the payments, but she just wouldn't listen. Had to pay and leave, as I had a flight to catch after travelling 2 hours, and couldn't wait for their managers to show up. At the time of putting up this review, I am still waiting for communication for them with regard to the entire fiasco, and waiting for my money. What's worse is that this is the 3rd time overall, and 2nd time in 2 months that the ITC group have screwed up, financially. I think it's time for me to say Adios! ITC!!! :-(
The hotel was good and the staff was courteous and comfortable except for the staff of Front Office who were bit rude at starting. Rooms were large and spacious. In room dining was quick. Overall, a nice stay.
This is an ITC Welcome group managed property. That plus the fact that it costs TOP DOLLAR adds a certain amount of expectation with respect to the property quality and the hospitality level. However in my very recent stay I was HUGELY disappointed by both. More so by the hospitality. I reached the hotel at 1.30 AM (morning) and was greeted by one of the worst front desk staff that i have ever come across and I travel like 3 days a week. This guy did us a GREAT FAVOUR by giving us a room. Being tired from my 9 hours drive from Delhi I wanted to put it behind me and hoped that tomorrow will be another day and the morning staff will be better hence did not utter a word about his "great favour" attitude. I had requested this chap for a late check out at 2 PM. Which was agreed to after some negotiation (which really should not have been the case I checked in only at 1.30 AM there should be some consideration). However he wrote 1 PM check out in the file as I discovered the next day.
The next afternoon just as I was getting back to the hotel after completing the job that I was there for at about 1.30 PM I got a call from the font desk this time a lady whose rude way of talking and story making about why the room should be immediately vacated suggested that I was like an illegal alien squatting on their property and unless I removed myslef immediately they would throw me out . It was not that they were fully sold out and at 1.30 PM they had busses full of persons trying to get their rooms it was EMPTY. I finally lost my patience and it lead to a showdown where again the staff showed their arrogance by smiling at our backs and sharing looks of defiance among themselves suggesting to us that AGITATING their customers is part of their job profile. It was a humiliating experience to stay here which is FAR REMOVED from the glad that you chose our hotel attitude.
Apart from this the location of the hotel is good. The property and room quality is now depleted and shows tremendous signs of ageing particularly the wooden flooring.
The hand towels need to be requested. On the good side FOOD and restaurant service are good as is the toileteries quality provided in the washroom.
But net net FRONT DESK is a nigtmare and makes it a horrendous experience to stay here. So AVOID.
at one end of the mall. So no trouble reaching the place. no restrictions/ rush hour of the mall road to reach the hotel.
its located at the edge so it has a fine view of the valley. evenings get pettier.
Speciality is the wide range of flavored Vodkas at its bar.
Average food. But remember to find the right room with valley and balcony.
No elevators. Reception is at level 3 with 2 levels each above and below. Rooms are nice.
