Close to where you buy the Taj Mahal tickets, the location is the only positive thing about this hotel. I read that it was a non-smoking hotel - it stinks of stale cigarette smoke. I read that it has 24 hour hot water - it doesn't. (I got 1 hot shower in 3 days at times that the hot water was requested to be on - and it's very cold in Agra in Dec!) I read it offers money exchange - but only when the money exchange guy can be bothered visiting the hotel. It was cold, the linen was dirty and the rooms very noisy. The phone didn't work in the room. The tv remote didn't work. The breakfast was awful. I witnessed several heated arguments between disgruntled guests and hotel management. I regretted paying in advance as I would have gone elsewhere. My advice is not to book this hotel.

The Tara Grand is a shocker. We felt unsafe and changed hotels as quickly as we could. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. There is a bad feeling in this hotel.

We have stayed in 4 rooms with our family really we feel like our home
a/c and all cool running because of new hotel ,very neat & clean tiled flooring ,we did not had food apart from breakfast

we recommend really a good budget hotel near by eartern gate taj mahal ,just walkable disance ,in the roof top now they have made all the arrangement for enjoy the evening for their guest , small seating arrangement with table

While I was there, i was in the newer front area. There is a older area at the back, so not sure what tha was like.

My room was spacious, clean and modern. The A/C was good and quiet. You are not from the Taj Mahal booking office (about 3 minute walk) which then offers a free drive to the Taj Mahal. There are plenty of tut tuts always out the front. It is not really in the heart of the Taj area, which some people may like as it is away from the main bustle and the noise. Though it is close the the eastern gate.

The management are very keen to make sure that you are happy here and go out of their way to help.

This is a good clean basic hotel that will look after you.
