While the Hotel has a great location for visiting Taj Mahal as well as friendly door men and bell boys the over all and lasting impression isn't too good.
Our room had a delightful smell of mold and mildew, somehow after a day out in Agra with smoke, smog and "open air defecation" that alsmost seemed like a welcoming scent after a day out and about.
The "travel desk" was a rip off. We asked for a driver to take us to 4 points of interest and got quoted RS 1700 plus a 200 service fee... thought a bit pricy for the going rates there but oh well, nice to have it all taken care of. 5 minutes later the phone rang in our room... they dropped one of the stops we wanted and the price went up to 2500 plus the 200 service charge.... talk about inflation!! At that point we felt like they really where doing their best to rip us off and called the Indian tourist office who arranged for a driver to take us to the 4 sites we wanted to see for 1100!!! Next day we asked the same delightful travel desk to arrange for a ride back to the train station pre paid cab was 150 they wanted 400!
So if you like mold and mildew as well as a chance to be hosed and nickeled and dimed this would be a great place to stay!!

Very nice place just outside of the town centre, in a convenient location for walking to the Taj early in the morning to beat the crowds. Good facilities, pool, massages, shop, travel desk, quite air con, safe, etc

Only downside is the place is abit characterless, it doesn't reflect India much, its aimed more at the corporate market.

This hotel is central to all the sites. It is modern, clean and friendly. The rooms are a little smaller than comparative hotels but still good. As a single female traveller this hotel was one of the best.

The only downside was that due to its central location, with a school behind it it was a little noisy.

This is a good solid choice for a one night stay in Agra. The hallways are a little faded, but the rooms were decent, probably recently renovated, and seemed clean. The pool area, although not the best we saw, was quite nice. It is situated on a busy corner with other midrange hotels all around, and just down the street is a Costa Coffee if you need a fix. By the time we visited the Taj, went for dinner at Only, and then got up at 5:15 to see the sunrise at the Taj, we probably only spent about 6 hours in our room. Price including breakfast was around 4000 INR when booked through Rajasthan Four Wheel Drive. What really impressed me about this hotel was the service after staying at the Alsisar chain. Everyone seemed concerned that everything was okay with your stay, and the buffet breakfast was great, lots of local foods, tourist foods, and well run.

The hotel is located on Fatehabad Road along with most othjer hotels in Agra. The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are close by (1-2 km away). Rooms are good and all rooms have a min-bar, which was good since we could use the fridge to store items. Coffee and a bottle of water are provided complimentary in the room. Toiletries provided were minimal although the notice said that you could request any common toilertry item that you may have forgotten.

Hot water was disappointing since we had to call the front desk to get the boiler turned on since there was no running hot water. This happened to us thrice! Since then, a manager has called and apologized and said corrective action has been taken. Do your due diligence though.

Travel desk was helpful answering questions.

There is a Pizza Hut closeby (walking distance). It does get crowded but had 2 levels. There is a good south Indian restaurant (Dasaprakash) about 1 km away.

The hotel gets a lot of groups. This may been a bit of a bother during breakfast times but we did not face them as they tend to depart early. Buffet breakfast was above average and sumptuous. Service in the buffet breakfast was below average (the waiter had to be asked to bring us glasses of water!!)

Check-in / check-out was average. The employees did not appear enthusiastic and sometimes I felt the attitude of "oh boy, another tourist...".

Overall a good hotel, good facilities (except for the hot water problem I have mentioned), clean and well appointed rooms, spacious corridors, etc. Excellent value for money - a double bed room cost INR 4000 per night (approx USD 100).

  • Liked — Location, value for money, clean and well-kept
  • Disliked — Had troubles with getting hot water (supposed to be fixed after the fact)
