I stayed at this grubby dirty old hotel in January 2012 for 3 nights. As I had prebooked and paid for my accomm could not change hotels. The hotel, can quite easily be described an an 'old dump' Very dated dark dingy decor throughout. Bedrooms ordinary and dated. Bathrooms, small and worn out...I had to change my room 3 times in order to find a bath that still had some enamel left on it, most baths are going rusty!
. The room I was finally allocated, at the back of the hotel, over-looked noisy generators that kept me awake at night.
Carpets throughout are badly worn and shabby. Lifts very small and again worn. The huge crystal chandelier that hangs in the lobby and greets you as you enter, is absolutely filthy. Areas on and around the Front Desk Reception are dirty/ dusty.
The Front Desk was inefficient. Lots of staff by no-one did their job well. One morning they forgot to give me an alarm call which then made me late for my flight..
The hotel is well suited to cheap package- tour tourists or, young kids enjoy a cheapy holiday.
Main restaurant on ground floor (breakfast is served there) very dated, food fair. The Restaurant Manager, who has only been working at this hotel a short while, was the single efficient member of staff. Their rooftop restaurant is much nicer and more modern, however they failed to tell us, when we booked, that in winter it is open to the elements, it was freezing cold. As they only had one small heater on, we had to leave.
On a positive note, hotel location is good. Beds comfortable and clean .
