We got into the hotel on a recommendation. hence did not go through the review. they literally cheated us by charging 1800 bugs for just the evening to show taj and fort. we happened to see only tej. they wantedly took us to the eastern gate just to make money. I happened to find the proximity of western gate at midnight and we were about to leave. Due to the untime and our risk of missing the train I had to just shout at them and throw the money. one should never think of staying here. I have planned to take it to the hotel authorities too.
Was ok. Nothing fancy, but good stay for visiting Agra, the food was good! Also very close to Taj.
We had booked Hotel Mandakini Villas via Kukreja Group Hotels for a night due to its close proximity to Tajmahal. We had reached Agra from Delhi via train in the morning and had checked into the hotel directly.
We were not satisfied with the rooms that was provided to us. The rooms were small. Moreover, the rooms were not cleaned and no hot water was coming in the bathroom. One of the room's window was not opening. We complained to the room service about the hot water and they got it rectified for us.
The hotel is located just 200 metres from the Taj Mahal's west gate and it is a budget friendly hotel. It needs a lot of improvement in terms of room quality and to match up to the standards provided by Kukreja Group Hotels in Delhi. We could not sleep well and got up early due to lots of noise made by nearby residents.
The food quality was average and the service provided by the staff was satisfactory.
The rooms are very basic, no pillow covers, bathroom walls covered with fungus, restaurant food below average, hopeless breakfast. But above all is the smell and the taste of tap water - pure sewage. If you didn't manage to book anything better on time, you can stay there, but if you have a choice - avoid this place.
