In November we (my wife, our 8-yr old daughter and me) travelled to Agra, after a two-day stay in Alka Hotel in Varanasi (see our review). Then came the near-hellish experience of finding our way in an incredibly crowded Varanasi station due to a 3-day religious festivity, immediatelyl followed by a thirteen-hour journey on the Varanasi-Agra night train. Needless to say, we were overjoyed in eventually finding ourselves in a civil place like Hotel Kant. Rooms are modern, well-furnished with complimentary water, tea and espresso. The minibar was cheap-priced, the TV set was a gorgeous 42" LCD, the A/C was but a subtle whisper in the night and the staff really amiable.
Wanting to be picky-picky-picky...the restaurant is a little overpriced in relation with the food quality and the hotel location makes almost compulsory recurring to a tuk-tuk for going wherever you want to go (Taj Mahal and Agra Fort...what else? :-)), but in the end Hotel Kant deserves all the cheers and hoorays we tributed to it.
