We stayed here in Dec 2011. It was very quiet as there were only about 6 guests in the hotel. This is one of the better choices in Ooty. The only criticism is that it was very cold there and they could have used more heat in the restaurant.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. they set up an extra heater in our room for us as it was so chilly. Food in the restaurant was pretty good.

Overall, I would stay there again.

I stayed at Fortune Hotel for 3 nights in January 2012. The hotel management was very conscientious about making sure my stay was good. The dining room had a good selection of food in the buffet. Even made dosa on demand. Love that! Marsala tea is made to order, so unlike some other buffets in India, you have to wait for it to be made.

The hair dryer didn't work at first. I contacted them and let them know and new one was installed after I returned to my room that evening.

I stayed in several hotels during my recent trip to India, and I was pleased that the safe in Sullivan Court actually worked! Sometimes it's hit or miss. (Actually, mostly miss in my experience with hotels in India).

The only downside to the hotel was it's wifi connection. There was clearly something wrong with the server or modem, or something. I had to keep asking them to reset it (sometimes several times in one day), and once they did, it worked fine. Perhaps they need to explore replacing it.

Nice Hotel with great ambience.... Old World Charm.

Need to iron out some wrinkles... food needs to improve, billing system needs to improve (didn't charge me for coffee and sandwitches :) ). Also during happy hour, stuffed me with 2 large, instead of 30ml as set out in the drinks menu. And billed me for 4 pegs.

I had to cancel my room due to an emergency however was able to dine at the hotel before we left. The food was excellent, they cook both the continetal food as well as the Indian selections to perfection. The service was Top notch with attention to detail and they had a depth knowledge of the food selection as well as a very good suggestion of what was food and must have at the reastaurant. We were a party of 4 and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves as it was winter. Our 15 monh old daughter had a field day running all over the restaurant where the staff entertained her.

I will defintly return here to eat the next time I am in ooty, maybe they may have a buffet in season, being winter and off season there was only a a-la-carte options available. The overall experience was very satisfying.
