We stayed at this property in the month of December for 3 days. I have to start by saying this- the property can be better maintained than its current standards. The positives include: this is a huge property in this heritage city; the rooms are huge with a lots of sitting space; Generally well kept rooms. We were given a window less room first. We then asked for a different room and got a great garden facing room.
The property is located toward the boating area. It has a huge front garden; great pictures from the colonial era on the walls; artifacts from the royal family splashes various parts of the hotel.
The food was AMAZING! The chef prepared best tasting South Indian dishes. Make sure you order ala carte and not go for the buffet.
Negative points: lack of maintenance; lack of central heating; general inadequacy of staff even though they were courteous.
I really hope they put some extra effort to maintain this property otherwise it will be difficult to maintain its clientele.
