I visited Jaisamand Island Resort recently. I was not expecting much after seeing the pichola lake at udaipur (that was totally dry). I was surprised by the place and the resort. Rains had come in last year and the Jaisamand Lake was full (about 100 feet deep). The resort has just finished the renovation and the rooms were out of the world. I was fortunate enough to be the the first person to use the resort spa, they just started it in January 2005. The staff was really good and the service was excellent. The resort was packed beyond my expectations. The suites facing the pool are the best to take, ask them for a free upgrade. I think its a must-stay-place for any person going to Udaipur.
The wild life sanctuary and the birds around the resort would drop any nature lover.
