Group of 8 friends (pensioners) from Italy. We were booked at The Pugmark by the Tour Operator who organised our Indian tour, Travel Shastra in New Delhi and spent 2 nights there 20-21 Nov 2010. It is a rustic hotel, very suited to the place. We stayed in the Standard bungalows: the rooms are basic but spacious and airy, comfy beds, good size bathroom. We were on a Full Board Plan, which is the normal Plan in Ranthambore as the hotel is really in the middle of nowhere, and found that the food was plentiful and of good quality. Friendly staff. In-situ evening entertainment provided by local dancers. Pleasant all-around atmosphere. Cool in the evenings and very cold in the early morning safari. We didn't see any tigers, but we did see plenty of colourful birds, deer, a big croc and several monkeys, plus the scenic beauty of the Park.

The picture of reception in the adverts is nothing like reality, however once through the 'cave reception' you are greeted by pleasant gardens and space between the cottages to give privacy. The pool was clean. More beds needed as these were 'bagged' early on with towels!
The rooms were clean. Dining room was rather lacking in atmosphere and echoed so noisy when a number of people all talking but the food was very good and the dining room staff very attentive and helpful at all times. Coffee was provided in the garden at 6.30am before going on safari and breakfast waiting when you returned.
I would strongly recommended paying extra for a jeep rather than the 16 seater safari truck. We had to wait over an hour one cold morning while it picked people up. Also seats were crowded and some people blocking the view of others. We did see a tiger close up but the trucks drove at high speed over very rough roads. Tipping was a problem as if they felt you had not given enough they would ask for more.
The hotel had a tip box. I would certainly stay at this hotel again and perferred it to the larger busier one next door. It was in a remote location but this was not a problem as we were full board during this part of our holiday.

The Pugmark is a beautiful hotel, and with the best staff we experienced during our whole trip around India. We didn't see any tigers, and I recommend you are proactive about choosing the right tracks when booking the safaris. We weren't aware of this until the last drive.
The hotel is far away from everything, so we didn't have the chance to explore much around it. The food however, was really good, and we didn't feel the need to venture elsewhere.
I had the best ayurvedic massage at their spa as well.

I would like to share my experience in Pugmark resort Ranthambhore. I did my research on various resorts in Ranthambhore and called Pugmark resort directly to get the details and rates on the phone. I got their number from their web site. When i called the number the person who picked up the call was someone called Irfan. He was kind enough to give all the details over the phone. He understood my needs and accordingly he gave me suggestions. I decided to book Pugmark resort for my holiday just by talking to Irfan. I was taking a risk to book the resort by just talking to him. He gave me various options to make advance payments and i decided to go with online payment.
I booked the resort two months in advance. Later after a month because of some personal reasons i decided to cancel my trip. I called pugmark and informed Irfan about it. He immediately sent me a refund check after deducting initial amount. By the time i received the check i decided not to cancel my trip and called Pugmark to inform them the same.
I reached the resort. The resort is not very far from the National Park however it is a away from the main road and the village. There are no shops or proper road around the resort but the staff at the resort is very friendly and helpful and they will get everything that a guest requires.
The rooms are clean and well maintained. The resort is well maintained with lots of greenery, beautiful flowers, clean swimming pool and way from noise, pollution and city area. It is a perfect place to relax for couple of days away from hectic life in Mumbai.
The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They are always smiling, quick service and very frindely. The food at the resort was mind blowing. My mouth is watering while i am writing about it. They have a decent spread of buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can have your evening tea and dinner at the garden outside the restaurant with a bonfire and some live regional music.
The resort booked the jungle safari for us and they provided us with blankets while we were going to the national park. as it was extremely cold in the morning. When we return from the safari we were served hot breakfast.
I would definitely recommend Pugmark resort to people who what to enjoy their stay at Ranthambhore. Even though we didn’t see any tigers at the national park the say at the resort along with the Jungle safari was a memorable one. I would rate Pugmark 4 out of 5. The only problem i faced was on the 1st day they were unable to provide me with hot water to bathe. The problem was solved the next day.
