We landed up at the Nahargarh recently. We did not have any reservation.
To our complete surprise surprise and shock, the manager of the hotel (Mr. Ajay Singh) did not let all of us enter the hotel premises. There three of us travelling party, and he wanted only one of us to to even enter the reservation area and enquire about the reservation!
We did not wish to be subject to such treatment even before we had entered the hotel premises!
We refused to enter the hotel and instead checked in at the much more exclusive Oberoi VanyaVilas.
What was Nahargarh's loss became Oberoi's gain.
If a manager even refuses to meet the hotel's guest and instead stops us at the security gate to allow only one of its guests through, imagine the arrogant and brash service we would have had to endure during our stay!

a great hotel built over a massive area, walking thru the entire premises would take you an hour. good service, well kept and clean rooms and a perfect ambience for a retreat. While the BBQ dinner was excellent, the regluar lunch/ breakfast spread was ordinary. went for the spa as well and give this a miss, there is construction work going on and couldnt enjoy the massage with the noise.

an amazing hotel which scores big in my books on a lot of fronts.it can be seen from the main road where all the other hotels are but is removed from the main road giving it an air of exclusivity.the entrance and building facade is also very imposing and one was surprised to know that it is not actually a heritage structure but made only 7 years ago.they have done an excellent job of giving it the palace look.there's a lot of space everywhere,with huge courtyards and they've also done a great job with the dining room,bar area,television room and lounge and swimming pool.
the rooms are also quite spacious and mine had a huge terrace with a great view on the third floor.a television in the room was not really missed though i guess they can think of adding fridges in the rooms later possibly with mini bar facilities.the bathrooms were also a mix of heritage and modern facilities.
but the one thing that stood out the most for me was the service and attention to detail.the staff were extremely helpful starting from the GM and it indeed added to the warmth of the place.food was great and one tends to over indulge a bit because of it.
even without the thought of coming here for the safaris,one would come here just to spend a couple of relaxing days at this hotel.
and i did let the GM know that the website didn't do their establishment justice and he laughed it off saying they were glad they could exceed people's expectations every time.highly recommended.

VERY impressive when you first arrive but the illusion quickly fades. Facility maintenance was poor, cracks and poor painting everywhere.
However the food was good and the service by the Nepalese waiters good too.
