“Period hotel with atmospheric rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Nachana Haveli is located just inside the outer fort walls & an easy walk from the main fort area.

The hotel is lovely, a small fountain in the central courtyard. Rooms are mostly in the ground floor except for two suites on the first floor.
We stayed in a room called 'Nandini'. The room was decorated with period furniture. Superb atmosphere. But the letdown is the lack of windows. So the rooms are warm & toasty in the midst of winter. But it starts getting to you after a day. Thankfully we stayed for just a day. Wouldn't have been able to handle the lack of windows for longer.
There's a restaurant called Saffron on the terrace. The food isn't anything to write home about, but isn't expensive. They serve beer too.

Go here for the beautifully decorated rooms & an authentic haveli experience.

Room Tip: The suites on the first floor would be much better, and far more expensive. Stay a day here, in any...

“The managements attitude to customer care stinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

The hotel is quaint, nicely decorated, the rooms are lovely and the hotel is in a great position to all the sights but the managements attitude stinks.
They had lack of hot water and electricity problems but the management didnt want to deal with the problems (a plumber and a portable generator was all that was needed).
the hotel prices itself as if its 1st class but the overall experience is nearer 3rd class.
Chose another hotel as this one doesnt deserve your custom.

“beautiful old style rooms in an actual city palace.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

With our family and friends we stayed 2 nights in this beautiful small city palace, still inhabited by the royal family of Jaisalmer. It is quiet, the service is great and friendly, clean rooms and the rooftop terrace has a great view over the new city and the old city in the distance.
Every room is decorated differently and we enjoyed the clean and spacious bathroom.
Unfortunately we hadn't had a chance to dine at the Saffron Restaurant, but we have heard many good things about the service and quality of food there too.

“A piece of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I stayed here after my family completed the Rickshaw Rally in September. It was a delight after the Jaisalmer Express from Delhi (a misnomer if ever there was one) and felt like we were stepping back into history. Our first room had a noisy air con unit but our other room (106) was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful (one even went the extra mile and went out to buy us some beer after the hotel restaurant bar had closed).

Definitely visit the Killa shop opposite for exquisite scarves

Room Tip: 106 is a twin with a good bathroom and quiet air con. 104 has the noisy air con unit
