Our flight into Pune was delayed and by the time we arrived at Seasons it was around midnight and we were fairly tired and just wanted to check in and get some sleep. The desk clerk was quite rude and abrupt, demanding all sorts of information about our visas, when we entered India and where, the purpose of our visit, etc. when all they are required to do is take copies of our passports/visa pages. The photocopier mysteriously broke after copying one passport and he said he would need to keep the other until he could make a copy and he would send it up in 5 minutes. We suggested that perhaps we could sort this out in the morning but he refused. We were too tired to argue.
Half an hour later we called reception to ask where the passport was and 10 minutes later it was delivered. Sometime after 1:30am the desk clerk phoned our room to ask when we were checking out, again this probably could have waited until the morning (and even then, our checkout date had been given at the time of booking).
The bathroom floor was not exactly filthy, but there were a few large stains and dirty areas. We mentioned this the next day at reception and they said they would have our bathroom cleaned thoroughly. We returned to find the bathroom in pretty much the same state, but now with an overwhelming number of air fresheners.
Also during our stay, I asked for some bottled water from room service. It took over an hour and three phone calls before we got them (I was told no one was in our room when they were sent).
The pool was not in use when we stayed. And as it was mostly empty except for green water, it doesn't look like it's been in use for some time.
The lift door is operated manually (which is fine) but whenever the door is opened it plays a piercing, electronic rendition of the theme from 'Love Story' (which repeats until the door is shut). This could certainly be heard from our room, even when the lift wasn't on our floor.
The hotel is also located very close to the train line, and the trains operate all night and the drivers are not shy about blowing the horn.
Four days into our week long stay at Seasons, we were informed that we would have to check out early as there was an event for the owners of the apartments happening over the weekend, so we needed to find alternative accommodation for or last night in Pune.
All in all, it could be quite an acceptable hotel: the apartment rooms are large and well laid out. The location is not bad - it's a short walk to North Main Rd, and there are plenty of autos around. Ultimately, it's the staff attitude that brings the place down. With a few exceptions, the staff are mostly somewhere between unfriendly and rude, and in most cases are quite unhelpful.
