We, a family of 10, went to this hotel at about 2100 hours on 5th Jan after visiting Ajantha caves. Initially the Manager at reception desk told us that the hotel has only two executive suites available and no other rooms are vacant. We were asked to inspect the executive suites and didn't feel it could accommodate everyone. After looking at few hotels nearby that weren't very good we came back to Hotel Windsor. This time the Manager told us that he can give us 4 rooms at level 1 and that would cost us INR 11000 in total just for the night with free brakfast.
The hotel staff was supposed to give us two additional mattresses, that took more than one hour to get. We were so tired that all of us went to bed immediately. When we got up the next morning, we could see what a substandard room they leased us at such exorbitant tariff.
In the morning, we got the Manager at reception over along with the maintenance manager to show them the conditions of the four rooms. There was a blame game played between the two managers.
The window curtains were torn,. In another room, the window couldn't be closed fully. No curtains on the bathtubs in any room that had the shower inside. The roof panels were not assembled properly / had holes in them through which insects were crawling out. Bathroom ceiling panel had a 50 mm wide opening right along the length of the bathroom. Bathtubs, toilet bowls and walls were filthy, bathroom mirror in very bad condition, toilet seats loose, bath room doors cannot be locked and cracked wall tiles. Please check the photos attached.
The reception manager refused to give the contact details of the MD and / or CEO of the hotel.
I would like to know, how on earth this hotel was given a permit to operate in such a bad shape ?
This hotel does not deserve to have a rating at all. I certainly will not recommend this hotel to even my worst enemy.
