“Charming and beautiful - a must for those wanting to be close to nature”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2010

I was looking for a suitable hotel for our trip to Aurangabad. Visiting the Ajanta and Ellora caves had been a long time wish and we were all excited about the trip. My son had his demands, my in laws were visiting, my husband and I are quite selective about where we want to stay. Hence, I needed a hotel that would be comfortable for all of us.

The Quality Inn Meadows more than lived up to its name. We checked in very early morning and therefore could not see anything in the dark apart from a lot of space and quaint cottages strewn all over the property. But we woke up to the beauty of lush greenery and absolute quiet broken only by the chirping of birds. The hotel is away from the heart of the city and the best located for families wishing to visit the caves. The staff is very helpful and organize taxis for the guests to visit all the areas of interest. The hotel is eco friendly and this is evident right from the matting on the floors to the solar lighting systems. It was a delight returning in the evenings after a full (hot!) day exploring the caves.

The rooms are adequately large and we had enough space even with an extra bed for our son. The food is reasonably good, but not exotic. The a la carte menu is a lot more interesting than the buffets. The service is acceptable. One should not expect lightning quick service due to the sheer size of the property. There were enough recreational activities for kids and adults both, with a swimming pool, table tennis, chess, carrom, a small library etc.

What makes the hotel worth visiting and revisiting is the tranquility and beauty of the gardens and landscaping. To our delight, this did not have perfectly manicured gardens and shrubs pruned with millitary precision. The landscaping is intelligently and beautifully done, allowing one to feel harmonious with nature. The myriad colours are a visual treat. Our breakfast time was spent watching a pair of swallows building their nest in a small tree next to the glass facade of the dining room. We spent evenings sitting on the porch right outside the cottage listening to the sounds of the night.

Though our trip was short, we left with excellent memories and would definitely revisit The Meadows on our next trip to Aurangabad.

“an oasis near Aurangabad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2010

Quiet escape from ugly Aurangabad; great base for Ellora caves. Deluxe rooms are spacious and come with tea/coffee maker. Generous breakfast included. Good restaurant. Pool, colorful birds, nice sunset. The internet is a little pricey, but otherwise we were really happy.

“Loved the Ambience & Natural Setting of the Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2009

Aurangabad - For most people, it would be a place of great historical interest, but for people staying in this hotel, I am sure, it also a place of great Natural Beauty.
The resort is situated on the outskirts of the city, amidst hills on all sides. You can spend your entire day siiting at the poolside or in the lawn of the resort.
The cottages are good and the resort is maintained really well. I have stayed in a lot of 5 star resorts also, I didnot feel anything missing here. We reached the resort at about 2 am, yet we didnot have to wait to get out rooms, neither were we charged early checkin price.
We took a 2 nights & 3 days package which included room tariff, breakfast & dinner. The spread were quiet good and varied.
Being on the outskirts of the city, transportation was a bit of the problem, but , the resort have their own vehicles which can be used at a pretty reasonable price.
Aurangabad definitely boasts of a large number of accomodations at much cheaper rate, but if you looking at a 5 star treatment at reasonable price, then , this sure is the place for you.

“A Decent Option in Aurangabad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2009

We stayed at The Meadows for 3 nights in December. The room was fine, light, with decent cable and appropriate amenities. However, the bathroom was marginal, at best. The bathtub was permanently blackened in small areas, the shower curtains were ripped and moldy. The entire room had a feeling of not having been thoroughly cleaned. The grounds of the hotel are fine, the pool was clean and the outside eating area is quite pleasant. The quality of the food was good, with a fair amount of variety, the service attentive and friendly, but the wait time for food was excessive. The hotel is outside town and therefore a very quiet place, which we found a plus, although others might find its isolation a negative. I might stay here again but would more closely check out rooms before making a decision on a particular one.

  • Liked — open grounds and level of privacy and quiet
  • Disliked — poor bathroom facilities in room
