“Heaven, hot though, but still heaven”

We wanted to get away to a beach site for chilling and some snorkeling / diving so we had either Maledives or Lakshadweep in mind.
No comparison in terms of value for money, that is sure, looking at min 400 US$ per night at Maledives, also the flight from within India is cheaper to Agatti compared to Male
Surely, for the comfort provided, the Bangaram Island Resort is no bargain either, however
- if you take the 2 bedroom hut, rooms are spacious and comfortable, barring however the heat since there are ceiling fans only but no aircondition
- staff attitude was really amazing - never found this extent of active thinking in any staff working at Taj or Oberoi
- food is great, even more noticeable since they have to bring everything (but coconuts) by air/ship from the mainland
- the setting is amazing, the rooms are right at the beach (see sunrise pic attached)
- water in the lagoon is predominately turquoise, crystal clear and with loads of coral spots and even more different fish - great for snorkeling right away your room
- scuba diving can be done also right away from there or you take a open water dive to many places both inside and outside the lagoon
- heading back, its highly recommendable to do the turtle snorkeling off the shores of Agatti airport, mind blowing experience swimming along with these huge creatures.

The only noticeable downside is, though, that the groundwater on the island contains sulphur, which is giving a "not so nice" smell in the shower.
And a minor issue, they should mildly amend their room rates and stop charging for drinking water separately, just to save the hazzle

All in all a full recommendation though, we paid including daily snorkeling with equipment rental, scuba dives, turtle snorkeling and 2 open water fishing trips and all drinks about 210 USD per room per night, which it is very much worth it

“The Virgin Island”

Comments: The moment we saw Bangaram island resting in the huge lagoon, from the aircraft window, it set our pulses racing with excitement. We couldn't just wait to reach the island. The ferry ride from Agati to Bangaram was filled with excitement and curiosity. In fact the moment we entered the lagoon, we felt this really nice feeling of entering a completely new world altogether! The turquoise blue waters of the lagoon and the pristine surroundings were mesmerising. We were completely spell bound and I couldn't stop thanking my husband for choosing this as our honeymoon destination. I just fell in love with the place.
Best Experience: The best part of the island was its virgin beach and off course the fact that there were no residential settlements other than the Casino Resort. We took a walk around the island and it was lovely, just watching the birds, sitting together on the rocks, away from the resort.
The best moments were the ride to the other small island opposite Bangaram(part of the same lagoon), on a moonlit night. It was 9:45 pm when we left our island on a ferry in pursuit of watching turtles laying eggs on the other side. We reached the other island in about 40 minutes and the ride was no more than a dream sequence to me! The lovely moon light and the clear waters....the turtles swimming around and the sheer pleasure of being so close to mother nature and her beauty was just amazing. I can still close my eyes and remember that ride.
Well, one more thing that I can never forget is the taste of the Barbeque Fish! especially the Tuna prepared by the Resort cook! It was outstanding.
The resort organises a lot of activities for one to indulge in ;Sunset watching tour, Fishing, snorkelling, deep sea diving, etc etc. The best part is the corals in Bangaram. More than 100 varieties that you can find here. We went on a glass bottom boat around the island to see corals. Breathtaking it is!! Must do!
Do go and see Bangaram at least once so you'll know that India is also home to some really lovely islands and lagoons!

“Rustic paradise”

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip to India. Real Robinson Crusoe experience, simple accommodation but spotless, great food (including fresh salads and no tummy problems), dinner served every night on the beach, well organised dive centre, beach right in front of the room. Don't expect luxurious touches - Bangaram is basic and the island could do with some tidying up (strewn with litter, coconuts, building rubble) - but for a get-away-from-it-all break complete with charming staff and wonderful weather, you can't go wrong

“Stunning place”

My partner and I stayed at Bangaram Island resort a few weeks ago, and were blown away by the island. The place was half full, but you'd have thought that nobody else was staying there as we seemed to have the place practically to ourselves for the duration. The staff are SO friendly, the food is amazing and we felt very spoilt to be so well looked after. Our only complaint about the resort is that you have to pay for drinking water, which we felt was quite bad. It should be provided free in the mini bar in the rooms and at meals. Apart from that, I totally recommend this place for a romantic holiday.
