If your planning to go to Mauritius or Maldives - simply drop your idea & think about Agatti Islands. Its easily accessible - just one hour flight from Kochi (Cochin), not -so-expensive. You have resort & budget Home-stays at Agatti. The Island is an elongated tiny piece of land along North-South directions with maximum width of a kilometer. At places it is just 30 m wide & one can see transparent Sea-Green color water on its west & blue color water on its eastern side in one sight. Beaches are neat & clean (no filth/human-contamination, no plastic) - just pure white sand formed by reworking of corals by the sea-waves. The beauty of beaches can't be described by words. Simply board the flight for Agatti & feel & absorb this eternal beauty of these virgin beaches. Plan your stay in the heart of Island close to the local habitats. One can see local life-style closely. Plenty of water-sports at Sports Complex Beach near Airport, a small museum, another beach near light house, western Jetty point & eastern Jetty point are some of the tourist interest places. All visitors (both Indian & foreign nationals) require prior permit (Issued by Lakshadweep Government & SPORTS Authority, Kochi) for Agatti & other Islands of Lakshdweep. As Agatti Island is better connected to Indian Main-land so it is favourite destination of Indian Tourists. Agatti has one ATM of Syndicate Bank for cash withdrawals. For visiting other island one require fast-boat which is often risky & not-advisable for people of heart-land as they can suffer from sea-sickness during sail by these boats in open-sea. I had seen Havelock Islands of Andaman & Nicobar, but Agatti is far better than Havelock.
