We recently stayed in Sanctum Spring beach Resort in the Suite Room. The room was spacious, nice and clean. The location of the hotel is great, it's situated on the north cliff. There are lots of nice restaurants nearby which serve delicious food. We loved Varkala a lot, and will definitely love to return to Varkala again for a holiday.
The restaurant in the hotel wasn't good. In the afternoon we were first told that the most of the items on the menu were unavailable, then when we reached the restaurant waited there for 15 mins for someone to take the order we were told that the lunch is not available and we can find good food at other restaurants nearby. The breakfast served in the morning was just bread, butter, jam, fruits(read bananas and unpeeled oranges) and a pot of hot coffee served cold. The omlette was provided after 20 mins of wait and on requesting. The A/C stopped working in the night, and we had to call them 3-4 times to get it fixed. Then we got pissed off and asked for the refund so that we can stay at some other hotel. It was then the fault with the A/C was fixed at 2 AM in the morning !!
The differential treatment to the Indian Tourists was very much disturbing. There was no drinking water in the room, it was only provided on request and we were charged for the drinking water.
The security guard who carried the luggage to our room demanded a tip and showed that he's not happy with the tip offered.

Warm & friendly atmosphere. Prompt service provided on call. a wide range of restaurants and café's at walking distance with a equally wide rage of cuisine and budget. Ayurveda for all available too next door.

We spent two and a half weeks at the Sanctum Spring Beach Resort during a long christmas holliday. We had a great time there. We had a double Delux suite with A/C as we were two parents travelling with a 7 year old and an 8 year old. The thing we liked best with this place is the genuinely friendly staff and the allways helpfull and knowledgeable manager Mr. Kumar. He was allways ready to help out booking transport or answering all our, sometimes rather odd, questions. When our sons recovery from foodpoisening (from Kolkata) took time Mr. Kumar made some phone-calls to his friend the doctor who managed to get us an appointment with a childrens doctor the next day!
The staff are all friendly and a few of them even gave our children cricket-lessons!
Our room was spacious enough for our family. There was a balcony to relax on in the evening, a fridge, a TV and a fairly large bathroom. Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels provided. The hotel is situated next to the helipad and has a great view to the sea. We recomend Sanctum Spring and our children have already decided that the next time we go to Kerala we must stay here again.

Stayed at Sanctum Spring Beach Report. Had such a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean.The daily breakfast was delicious. All the staff were friendly, professional, and very attentive. The manager, Anil Kumar, took great care of my family. I highly recommend Sanctum Spring Beach Resort. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
