We booked a 3 night stay here from the UK,.in February 2011. The description on the internet sounded idyllic, & there were good reviews (but all were written in 2009) but the reality was quite different.
Although this hotel has a fantastic tropical setting, surrounded by trees visited by an amazing range of birds, the bungalow style rooms, which are very attractive on the outside are are gloomy, basic & slightly grubby.
The décor of the rooms left us feeling a bit depressed; little thought had been given to brightening up the rooms or to what guests need. The dining area looked like a canteen and had dirty tablecloths.
We had to ask for another room after discovering the wardrobe had dirty & damp shelving, making it unusable We moved rooms (huge choice as there were NO other guests) , but found that there was a slight problem of damp in all of the rooms, especially the bathrooms.
No other guests were at the hotel during our stay. Another couple arrived, took one look at the place and promptly left. How we wished we had done the same. We left after 2 nights, moving a mile or so to another hotel which was half the price and so much better. We felt like we had been let out of prison.
The people running the hotel seemed uninterested and unsuitable to be in the hospitality business, they simply did not have a clue. It felt like a badly run youth hostel and a total rip off, charging the same price as much better quality hotels.
My advice is give this place a miss
