“women solo travellers - DO NOT STAY HERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Something is not right at this guesthouse. When i arrived there were a bunch of young Indian guys just sitting around - all around 25, it felt like a boys dorm. one of the indian guys was lounging in a corner with a foreign girl and moved away from her when i walked in. I was told to pay for my room upfront, because Ashik, the manager needed money to pay for the laundry guy who had just arrived. I begrudgingly relented because it was late and i didnt want him to have to go to the bank (why was i concerned about him again?) and instead of giving me my change, he told me he needed to keep the money for the next night because he needed more money for the laundry guy. I was too tired to argue and told him to give me my money back in the morning. In the morning, ashik, told me i looked tense and under the pretense of an "energetic relaxtion technique" that he was supposedly studying with a "local master" he came into my room and within minutes he was on top of me. i pushed him away and screamed at him to get out. I could see he was aroused from the ordeal and he didnt immediately leave until i started screaming. he came back a few minutes later with a wallet stuffed full of 1000 ruppee notes, potentially to bribe me? i left immediately. i told the italian woman who co-runs the place what happened and she did nothing to help calm me down, or deal with him. i probably should have called the police but i was staying in town at another guesthouse for a few days and there were so many young boys at the guesthouse, i didnt know who would recognize me and what they would do if i had called the police. the rooms are big and clean, but seriously every other house here is a home stay. it is not worth your hassle or your safety to stay here and the only way they will be able to see that they cant take advantage of travellers and get away with it is for people to stay away. Good luck to you all and be safe.

Room Tip: be careful.

“great location for a good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the friendly owners who showed us into a large, extremely clean room, with a comfortable bed, for a good price. The owners were really helpful when asking about the local area and about tours. The breakfast was also good. We also wanted to do some yoga whilst we were staying there, and we were directed to a great place, that had virtually one on one tuition at a high standard and for a low price.

“Good Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We asked a rickshaw driver to take us to several 'mid-range' homestays' and our 3rd call was this place. It was similar priced but this seemed more attractive.
The room was very comfy, the staff extremely helpful and nice and booked us on a day trip the next day for the backwaters - I would definitely recommend this if you want a day on the waters without having to travel to Alleppey.
All in all a great place to stay.

“Clean, friendly guesthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

We stayed for two nights at Bounty Yatra. It has good value, clean basic accomodation in a quiet location within walking distance of most of the sites in Fort Cochin. Riyaz and the guys were extremely helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again if we were in Fort Cochin.

“A clean guesthouse, with free Internet Access: what more do you need ?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

We went there two weeks ago and we think this guesthouse has a very good value for the price :
- it was very clean,
- it was located at walking distance from Princes Street and its animations and restaurants,
- It has FREE Internet access in the lobby.
- There is a mosquito net in the room.
- Friendly team
