We needed a place to stay for 2 days. Front desk was helpful enough. The room was big enough and there was a veg. restaurant downstairs- actually 2 of them one for the guests (breakfast included with stay) and another open for all. - standard veg. fare- clean, and tasty but was too spicy for us.
The room service was not that bright but I guess you get what you pay for. There was internet in the lobby. The government run tour ferry boats are a short walk behind the hotel- everything else is pretty much a short rickshaw drive away- MG road, a temple, markets.
We were comfortable and close to the place we needed to go to. It served our purpose. The hotel could do with some renovation

For authentic Malyalee breakfast.. I cannot recommend a better place. The buffet had Puttu, Vadas, Idlis, variety of chutneys and the works. We opted for Ala Carte, the vadas were crisp and Idlis just soft. The sambar is a typical malyalee so spicy. The coconut chutney was a tad dissappointing.. too watery. The Kappi was very original, ended up having 2 cups each.

To be honest, I don't understand why this hotel is rated good by other reviewers. The corridors leading to the room are dark and scary. Walking to our room was like walking through a maze of dark corridors! Similarly, the bathroom was dark as well! Everything in here looks old & need refurbishing!
Food was not up to the par and the coffee was the worst I have had in Cochin! You will be constantly waken up by sound of horns & crackers. Even the bed frame makes noise when you move!!! I have been traveling around central Kerala for 9 days and my stay here was the worst of all.
The only plus was the cheap(er) internet service.

This is some hotel anyone would love to come back, the beautiful marine drive close by, so is the great temple of lord shiva, and is the MG road, there cant be a better location in Kochi to get the proximity of all these attractions with a combination of nice restaurant and rooms. The hotel subhiksha and coffee house kempu brings back memories to all kochi lovers. Will come back, for sure
