“Cozy Friendly Homestay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

I stayed more than a week at Napier House and found eveyone to be most friendly and accomodating. The location is very quiet, with no street noise to speak of, being on a tiny side street. The rooms are simple and comfortable. The mattress was soft, which is a big plus in my book. The bathroom appeared to be very recently renovated with all new fittings and tiles. The AC works well. The wifi only works in the reception area and was often not working at all. This is not luxyury accomodation by western standards, but adequate in every way and staffed by a delightful group of people. The included breakfast is served on the verandah overlooking the tiny road and is freshly prepared toast, omelette, dosas, sambar and tea or coffee.

“Lovely, genuine, friendly staff and great location made this a fabulous place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2010

We stayed here a couple of nights. It's a b&b, which is what most of the accomodation is in Fort Cochin (so don't expect a hotel). It was a charming wee place, clean and tidy...but what made it stand out is the lovey staff....so friendly and genuine - and refreshingly, without expecting anything in return. It's centrally located, so you can walk the quaint streets, to cafes, restaurants and shops. (About 5 mins)

I had an issue with a lost passport before I arrived - and their help and kindness with sorting it out was incredible.

They made a great fresh breakfast based on what we requested (omlette for me, and chai tea). They have a little area out the front where you can sit and read, hangout - as with most of India bring insect repellant.

“Great relaxing stay in Kochi - good location, friendly place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

Arrived exhausted - left revigorated.
We slept very weel in a very big comfortable bed in a new room with air conditioning, a nice big bathroom. Our room was on the ground floor behind the reception. It looked somewhat better than the rooms on the first floor.
We spend 2 or 3 nights in Kochi and had good breakfasts at the hotel, tried our cooking with the cooking classes run at the hotel by the resident chef (little bit hands on, could be more but i had to take notes).
The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and very attentionate.
Location is off the main square where some gathering happen, a stone throw from the coast and teh chinese nets as well as close to the main street in the old Kochi.
we could use the hotels computer to check out the internet/emails. Not a very busy hotel when we were there and maybe got more attention because of that but the people seemed genuine and caring.
hard to find any fault, or really to push it: the stairs going up to the breakfast terrace are not suitable for everybody to climb as maybe a bit steep.
Definitely a place to come back to.

“not value for money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2010

I stayed in the "suite" which was spacious but really basic and completely overpriced. 4000 INR the night is just a rip off. Especially if you know what you can get elsewhere (e.g. Noah's Ark). I had to book and pay in advance for 3 days without any possibility of a refund if I would have wanted to chang hotels.
