we arrived to Keralagramam home stay with a nice car and a very kind driver, who we booked with Jos in advance, and when we saw this wonderful, clean place, by the backwater and we found that Jos is a very reliable person, we decided to let him plan the rest of our vacation. Jos did'nt disapointed us at all: the places he sent us in Munar, Allepey, Tiivandrum and Mattanchery were amazing , we had a warm hospitality everywhere we've been, and the program he made for us was perfect. Thanks to Jos we had the best vacation in beautiful Kerala!

As a journalist working in India I travel a lot - but rarely to such delightful places as this. After weeks working in the noise and heat and hassle, it took only an hour or so to relax in such a superb surroundings. Picked up at the airport swiftly, smoothly and cheaply then fed wonderful fruit and home cooking, with a view on the backwaters too. The cottage is spectacular but the room in the house well worth staying in too, if only for the welcome and the fun walks around the village. Spend two or three nights here as a decompression zone before heading out around Kerala. And ask for the pancakes. Definitely highly reccommended.

Just before we arrived at Gramam, we found a guide book printed in India that described Jos' homestay as 'top end'. How right they were! Arriving in it's secluded location in a taxi that Jos had sent to the station for us, we soon discovered what a wonderful place this is. We unloaded our bags and then were ushered off to small fisherman's boat for a sunset trip across the lagoon - such a great way to unwind from a day's travelling. We then discovered just how stylish, smart and beautifully finished the cottage is. So much space and wonderfully furnished - oh, and a bathroom with a 'wow' factor. Then there was the lovely food, prepared by Jos's wife. The following day we had a fascinating visit to a local family's prawn farm.
On top of all of this, Jos had helped us prepare our trip beforfehand with useful advice on our travels and then by arranging our journeys through Kerala. He booked us a great car and driver, sent us to the most superb homestay in Munnar and booked our trip on a houseboat. All of this lived up to the high standard set by Jos's own hospitality.
Not cheap by Indian standards maybe, but worth every Rupee. We couldn't recommend this more highly. Graeme & Kevin

I arrived to Gramam Homestay at 5 am after a long trip, alone and a little scared. The next morning I woke and as soon as i stepped into the outside shower with the sun shining down on me, I immediately felt calm and safe. Jos was the perfect host and was incredibly kind and generous with his time and his knowledge. I had vague ideas of where i wanted to go and what i wanted to do during my 6 week stay in Kerala and South India. With Jos' help we worked out an itinerary and i had a wonderful time. In addition during my stay in kochin i was looked after very well by Jos' taxi driver Shady who took great care of me as i was a woman travelling on my own. I cannot recommend Gramam Homestay highly enough. The only drawback is the distance from the town of kochin but that was a small price to pay for the overall experience i had.
