This was my second visit after five years. And it was just as I remembered. The last time we stayed in the guestroom and on this occasion I stayed in the cottage. The cottage is spacious with an outdoor bathroom and a kitchen. In the morning I would open the doors and stare at the scenery from the comfort of the bed. This is the place for enjoying the serenity if you wanted to “get away from it all” then head to Graman. For weeks before I arrived I was in touch with Jos and without fail his reply would be received with an hour or so. He arranged my airport transfers, day trip to beach and transport to Fort Cochin. His customer service/guest relations is exemplary. However if you’re after Ayurveda treatments, I don’t agree with Jos’ recommendation of visiting the local village Ayurveda clinic. Suggest you go to Trident hotels Ayurveda centre in Fort Cochin. Breakfast was included in the package and dinner was a very reasonable extra charge. Jos and his family are very fortunate to have his wife prepare their meals because every meal his wife served was superb. In fact that was one of the reasons I went back. The menu was varied, changed daily and is among the best Keralan cooking I’ve had. For lunch I agree with Jos recommendation to go the hotel just after the bridge. I would encourage you to book early and make this homestay your preferred choice in Cochin.
