You get what you pay for with this hotel. We booked a mini-suite and the room was much smaller than the photo on the website, though nice in itself. Our friends stayed in a deluxe suite and their room was shabby with a patchy old carpet. In both rooms the bathroom was not very clean.
This hotel has the worst restaurant I've ever eaten in in India. When we asked them to change the table cloth at breakfast because it had big brown stains on it, we were moved to another table with also had stains all over it. It went downhill from there. The food was terrible and the waiter was cranky. We decided to not eat in the hotel again for the remainder of our stay. On a plus note there are many good places to eat nearby - I'd recommend the Grand Hotel.
The room service and reception staff are friendly. The hotel was built in the early 70s and it looks like nobody's redecorated since. The soft furnishings (curtains, couches etc) are outdated. We were tempted to send the curtains down in the laundry bag to be washed.
