Hinterlaand is tucked away near Kochi. It is a small resort ideal for families with young kids and who just want to relax and not do much in their weekend. The small swimming pool is sufficient for the kids and adults alike. The two playgrounds are also equipped with small games like badminton, cricket etc. You can also enjoy a nature walk among the trees, watch birds and just relax. The kitchen serves reasonable food and the service staff are very friendly and pleasing.

The place was recommended to me by my school-going kids who went on a day trip to Hinterlaand with their school mates. They were all praise for the place which peaked my curiosity.
So our family along with another couple and their kids decided to do a day trip to Hinterlaand. We were on the lookout for a place that could be considered as a family getaway which was within an hour from our home but did not charge the high rates of Ramada and Taj. And we were not disappointed. For the price we paid we got the use of a room, the pool, shuttle court, the grounds and a nice meal and snacks. The people at Hinterlaand were also very helpful and accommodated all our requests.

One of the highlights of the trip was when all the birds were let out of their pen and they were walking amongst us. My kids just loved it.

The place is very secluded ... so you don't get to hear any traffic which is a boon in a place like Kochi. And the lush green surroundings and the varied vegetation stands as a testament to Mr. Unni's passion, the man behind Hinterlaand.

All in all, the day we communed with the nature at Hinterlaand will always be cherished by my family.

I had the most wonderful stay in Hinterlaand Village Resort with 5 of my friends. I was in awe seeing the architect and also the nature surrounding it. I am sure this place would stand out as one of its kind, it is so unique and the services provided is so homely and well touching. I would recommend everyone of you to go and have a night of stay in this marvellous place, it is a lifetime opportunity.
