I was in India for 6 months, and Vintage Inn was one of my two or three favorite accommodations among many. I recall a travel book saying the location isn't convenient, but I found it to be perfect. If I wanted to use wifi or get something western like a candy bar - I'd go up to Princess Street. Otherwise the local scene to the south and east was much more interesting to me. From Vintage you could get into a lot of different neighborhoods quickly. Also, just down the street is the Kerala Kathakali Centre, where I saw the best live traditional music during my time in India. A farther walk was the excellent and affordable Sri Krishna Cafe, an institution for traditional Keralan food.
As others have commented, the rooms are very clean and secure. The owners are helpful and all the staff is very friendly. I met some great guests here as well while having breakfast on the upper terrace. The comfort of this Inn encouraged me to stay much longer in Cochin than I expected, and without question I would stay here again if I'm back in town.
