“a home away from Home”

We stayed at Beena's for 2 nights, one at the beginning of our Kerala journey and one at the end.
The family were very warm and welcoming and the Kerala food which was cooked by Sadesh was delicious, He was more than happy to explain the different ingredients and the cooking techniques which I found fascinating.
On the way back we arrived well after breakfast but Sadesh quickly rustled up a meal for us which was greatly appreciated.
Sitting around the large dining table with other guests made each mealtime a social event and a time to share our travel experiences.
We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this homestay.

My sister and niece and I stayed at Beena's for two nights and had a wonderful time with the family. This is a real home away from home and is comfortable and welcoming. The food is great and we appreciated that all the dishes were explained to us.It is so nice to sit around a big table with other guests to share travel experiences. We also appreciated our host's willingness to organise transport and massage for us.

“Thoughtful and warm hospitality”

Beena's is a true home stay, where guests are included fully in family life. Beena and Sudeesh are generous with their time and considerate of their guests needs. They think about their guests (12 at a time) and subtly ensure that you can chat to the people you want to and avoid others. There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere around the dining table and a constant supply of delicious food. No one goes hungry here. We spent 5 very memorable days with this family, who we will remember with affection.

“3 nights in Fort Kochi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

Sudesh and Beena arranged to have us picked up at the airport. Our arrival at their home was quite warm and we immediately felt welcome. There was several other guests at their house and we all enjoyed our meals together. The food was good. Our room was clean and comfortable and our only complaint was that the water pressure was too low for a decent shower and the lighting in the bathroom inadequate for shaving. Both Sudesh and Beena are very pleasant people and their grand daughter was the cutest. All in all, it was a convenient location and good value for money.

“Excellent hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed at Beena's for 3 nights last month and were very impressed with the hospitality given to all that stay here. The family are wonderful and helpful, and provide an amazing keralan breakfast and dinner which was delicious and never seemed to end. All guests are invited to eat around a great dining table in their home, and you're plied with more food, fresh water and chai than you can shake a stick at.

The only disappointing aspect of our stay was the room we had. Although both room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, there was no mosquito net or place to put any clothes so we really did live out of our bags during our stay. And we couldn't open our curtains to let any natural light in as the window looked out onto a back store room used by the family. There was no hot water either, but this wasn't so important as it was so warm outside.

The food and family more than made up for the room, and to be fair, how long are you ever in your room for?! They arranged laundry for us which came back extremely quickly and cheaply, and they also organised a taxi for us to kumily at at least 400 rupees cheaper than anybody else advertised in kochi. Recommended.

Room Tip: Take your mosquito net!
