If you ever visit Manali, a trip – or three – to The Lazy Dog in Old Manali is a must. Couldn’t decide which was better – the ambience, the food or the service… they were all awesome.
Tucked away inside a small lane near the far end of the old town market area, the exposed brick construction reflects warmth and care in every small detail. If you prefer to sit indoors, you can park on floor cushions near the fireplace, settle into comfortable cane lounge chairs around a large table with your buddies or just hang lazy at the bar; and don’t miss the interesting inlay work in the old tree stumps visible in the floor. Even better, pick a table in the open lawn at the back and enjoy the soothing sound of the river flowing right alongside.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of cuisines including Indian, Korean and Continental, and a decent range of wines, beers and several other beverages. The staff is quick and courteous when you ask for something, but otherwise they will leave you to enjoy your space.
The only downside is that The Lazy Dog doesn’t take plastic, but then I understand none of the restaurants in Old Manali do, so…
