“OK but no "IT" factor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

First the thumbs up for cleaniness, friendliness, peacefulness, oodles of hot water ,spacious rooms and comfortable chairs, not to mention a powerful shower over an unusual sit in bath. The pool area is OK with domestic standard loungers, suspect it would be really crowded if all apartments stayed in on the same day and certainly there would be no escape from other people's kids. Food was good but dining area is down the side of the building and not really inspiring.Mini bar was reasonably priced and well stocked ( no spirits), shops for all self catering needs are close to hand and utensils for self catering are adequate, including a microwave. There is a hard wired broadband connection in the sitting room BUT the WI FI is via one router that gets moved from room to room on request. If your fellow guests go out for dinner before you get back at night and do not get up before you leave in the morning or just want to be on for hours on end, you are stuck;also the connection is really dodgy, no one's fault just a long way from the exchange and the router is not the most powerful we have ever used. So if the WIFI is essential to your holiday it might not be the place for you, otherwise no reason not to stay here as long as you realise luxury does not mean 5* just comfortable, roomy and clean .

Room Tip: Sal gets evening sun on balcony and morning in the bedroom

“We enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We had a great time.
The staff are really excellent as is the driver.

We found the apartment to be comfortable but not luxurious.
The food is also good even if it takes nearly 90mins to arrive post ordering.

The pool was cold making the jacuzzi wasted.

The website has very favourably shot photos. The pool bar was never open when we were there. This is not a resort in the same sense as your package holiday place.

The beach is a pleasant 20min walk, and a 5min, 50 Rs, ride back in a tuk-tuk. The beach is excellent an the shacks are friendly and serve good food. If you want some liveliness you will need to go to the beach or get the driver to take you elsewhere.

I think we might come back.

“Tropical haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2011

My first experience of Goa with my teenage daughter and we both loved it. The resort was perfect, excellent accomodation with friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms with all mod cons and wonderful colourful gardens. The pool was small but adequate, just perfect for a refreshing dip after a long hot day sightseeing in the Goan neighbourhood or a relaxing day just chilling. Food cooked by the local chef was delicious and a short walk into Colva offered many other alternative restaurants.
The location of Sandray is excellent. Some fantastic beaches are a short taxi ride away but these are inexpensive and the resort staff will book any trips/taxis required.
I'd throughly recommend Sandray it's a great place to be based whilst visiting Goa- can't wait to go back again!!

“OUR REVIEW MARCH 2011”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2011

Stayed here in Bondla Villa for a week 6th-13th March...Firstly the location is simply too far from the nearest beach (Colva)..you cannot walk it safely or under 30 mins..You need a Scooter..thats where Diego comes in!..Ask reception to contact Diego for Scooter hire...Hes a brilliant bloke...Will not let you down, he will even take you to airport in his taxi for 650 ruppes at night!...Brand new scooter as well..He loves the Brits to hire off him...Brilliant....Less than £3 a day!.....As for Sandray....lovely setting around pool...Not worth any extra for Bondla Villa...Pay less and get one of the other 4 avail.....Luckily owner turned up whilst we were there...he asked us if any prob's...told him new sun beds req'd..he made excuses as to why he didnt provide plastic or hardwood ones...but seriously, the beds around pool area are rubbish, you cant recline in em and you need towels over each metal armrest to save burning yourself!....we didn't use the Bondla roof terrace at all as found too dirty....(owner made the staff clean it whilst we were there)...too late form us though!..bedding especially pillows heavily soiled with what looked like "blood"...staff on site really polite and helpfull....only ate there 1 st night as in afternoon asked for simple prawn fried rice amongst other items only to be told 20 mins "no prawns sir"....had a curry later that day, but chicked meat not good....so ate out at Benaulim beach after that!..in conclusion, decent base but the outside surroundings/isolated location and smells of pigs and cows outside the main gate may deter the visitors......

“Second times a charm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2011

I'm not a regular contributor to trip advisor but always worth mentioning a great holiday. My second visit to Goa and decided to bring family members given our experience back in 2006. We decided to stay at the Sandray resort again as we had such a great visit last time and were pleased to see many of the same friendly staff . The apartments were better than we remebered and particular enjoyed our first floor balcony at dawn and dusk.

The resort was occupied with families and couples alike and added to the dynamic of the holiday.

India can be a very different experience when compared to European holidays but the quality and service of the apartments made us feel comfortable and we looked forward to returning to our little haven after a busy day at the beaches.

The world is a big place but we are certainly tempted to visit again in the future.
