First impressions were, what a lovely lush tropical setting. Our first meal was in the beach shack called Calamari, owned by Santana. Wonderful food! The service can be slow but sit back and enjoy the ocean view, remember you are on holiday.......relax! Sunbathe by the pool with a waterfall feature or relax in the lush gardens or use the comfy sunbeds on the beach supplied by Calamari, so long as you eat and drink there you can stay all day!
The hotel is handy for a walk along the beach to neighbouring Calangute and Baga. Buses are cheap and if you are up for an adventure you can hop on and go to the local markets or nearby Panjim, via a free ferry ride. Also you can walk up to the local Fort.
We found 2 weeks wasn't long enough. We travelled in January as a couple and would definately consider returning in the future. The rooms have air-con and ceiling fans which was most welcome as the temps were over 30c in the day and 20c+ at night. Comfy beds and pillows too! Tea/coffee supplied and mini bar if you want. No hairdryer though, but the sun will dry your hair in no time!
Ask for a quiet room as there is a lane leading to the beach, which we were alongside in room 522 and we could hear scooters, dogs etc most nights. We used the air-con to drown out any noise.
