“One of the best resorts to chill out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Stayed here on a 3 nights 4 days honeymoon package.Everything about this resort was just awesome except for the bed. They dont have regular cots, instead they have some kind of a cot like construction with a spring bed which floats on the sides. The bed bends on the sides so u have to sleep in the middle.I would have given a 4.5 if there was an option , for the sake of the bad bed. Else the resort is really awesome for the prize that they offered for the package.

Pros :
- great package for a reasonable prize - including airport transfers and breakfast and other perks.
- very helpful and kind staff. They arranged for a complimentary cake and bouquet on the day of arrival. On the last night they did a towelette.
- awesome pool side garden and bar with pool beds, chairs and swings to chill out. we spent most of the evenings enjoying the calm ambiance by the pool side.
- beach is just 2 min walk from the backyard of the resort. beach itself was relatively less noisy though it was commercial with a lot of shacks out there
- breakfast has a very good spread of indian and western food. The in house pan asian restaurant had great food as well as ambiance.
- toiletry in the room was good including shaving , dental kits and comb.

Cons
- bad bed (read start of this review)
- located in an area flooded with foreigners so the shops in the street are insanely unreasonable in pricing.
- taxis available outside the hotel charge higher than what you would pay from else where in the city.

Overall enjoyed the stay at lemon tree and would definitely go back if they continue to offer such packages.

Room Tip: Call the hotel and ask for a package rather than checking online.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. May I apologize for us not meeting your expectations at Lemon Tree Amarante Beach Resort, Goa.

The beds in our hotels are built up and for the comfort of our guests, the mattress is a bit larger than the bed for a comfortable fit.

The taxi services offered outside the hotel are privately owned and the fares are not in ou control. We offer our own taxi service which provides better service and quality at a very reasonable price.

Do give us another opportunity to make your stay at Lemon Tree Hotels memorable and please email me the details of your reservation at mary.tep@lemontreehotels.com so that I can handle it personally.

With best regards,
Yours sincerely,

“Toooooooooooooo Good..... and relaxing”

Every year twice i travel to Goa. Since last almost 16 years I was a regular guest at Merriot at Goa until I saw this beautiful place next to the sea called Lemon Tree. Since last almost 7-8 years i have been staying at this hotel in spite of getting best rates at Taj & Intercontinental. The garden attached suite which I have been using for last so many years are like traditional palace in Goa. An excellent breakfast & meals at Republic of Noodles make you forget everything for the time being & you enjoy.

Room Tip: The garden facing suite room give you an ultimate experince of staying in a traditional Goan palace...

“very nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Situated in the centre of Candolim within easy reach of reasurants and the beach, (you can walk from Candolim to Bagga along the beach) makes it just about a perfect location.
The hotl is clean and bright; has excellent friendly staff; enough sun loungers and pleasant grounds. The rooms have flat scfeen tv; tea and coffee; dressing gowns; slippers; shower, (no bath).
All in all very comfortable and a pleasant stay. Only criticism is that the pool would be better if it was a foot deeper, (its 4ft) which would make swimming better, at the moment its really only useful for playing.
A big plus I forgot to mention is that breakfast is served until 12 noon. All the meals we had in the hotel were very good. The best rstaurant we found outside the hotel was 'The Mermaid'.
There is a gym in the hotel with well maintained and good equipment. I used the spa which again was good if a little expensive, mainly because of tax.
Client mix seemed to be: English; Russian; Indian; Australian, (in that order) and I am pleased to say that everyone played nicely together.

“For more than US $ 200 a day you get a cold shower”

I'm staying at the Lemon Tree Amarante, paid more than US $ 200 a day and I get cold water in the shower. After asking I was told that they warm up the water between 5-11 AM and 5-12 PM.
You come back from the beach or swimming pool, want to take a hot shower but sorry, take a cold one.
I have nothing more to say about the hotel and it really doesn't matter.
It's Elementary Watson.
