This was our first experience of Goa the only thing we knew was what was written on Trip Adviser and tips we picked up on the internet.
Must agree with the majority of reviews Victor Exotica was excellent value for money staff very friendly also all the guests mixed with each other got loads of imformation from regular visitors about Goa which to be honest came in handy when booking trips taxi's and bartering.Only tiny fault with our room was the lack of a fridge to cool the drinks.Hotel ground's kept spotless the life gaurds forever cleaning the pool from falling leaves.
The beach is a 10 minute walk away best route was down the hotel lane turn right cross the road take the first left and follow the road we found you need to get there pretty early to get sun beds cost 50 rps all day we never ate at the shacks due to the fact we got off the beach around 1-00 pm because of the heat.On a couple of occasions we found broken glass at the sea edge would advise footwear on the beach. The sea can be a bit rough but all the more fun for swimming.
We booked a trip to Cola Beach brilliant value for money it's a two hour trip by mini bus to one of the most remote beachs in south Goa camping overnight food included all for about £35 each had to buy your own drinks also cheap. There are numerous trips to take most people do a deal with a taxi driver in fact if you want to know anything about Goa ask a taxi driver. We never saw a cloud for the two weeks we were there temperature into the 30's every day mid 20's in the evening. Before we went we went to Goa people were going on about having clothing made out there but from what i got quoted they were no cheaper than at home.Didn't bother eating out mainly because of the good food at the Victor Exotica and being A/I also hygene didn't appear to be at it's best in most places although many of the places seemed to be very popular probabley me being to fussy.
The only fault we found with Goa was it is in a desperate need of a good tidy up as once you leave your hotel there's rubbish dumped at the side of the road no one bothers to clean up i suppose they wait for the monsoons to arrive and wash it away but don't let it spoil your holiday you get used to it also the airport not one of the best it took almost 2 hrs from getting off the coach to getting to the checking in desk also the security is really strict.Don't overload your bags £17 per kilo.
We will almost certainly be visiting Goa again its got many positives mainly the weather beaches cheapness and also the friendlyness by everyone.
