“Exceptional staff!”

The staff here could not be praised more. They are extremely helpful (as one of many examples, one gentleman accompanied me to SEVERAL banks until I finally got my traveler's cheque exchanged) and do their utmost to make sure your stay is perfect. The rooms were clean, sophisticated, and well kept. The location is in a quiet area, just a 2 minute walk from the beach. Wi-fi and breakfast are an added bonus!

“Unique in service & style”

Casa Candolim is a small and cozy little property tucked away at the far end of the Candolim beach road. The staff is amazingly friendly and efficient, always available for you and not looking for a tip for every chore they do which is EXTREMELY refreshing especially in India. I really don't know how they manage to treat every guest as unique individuals and special guests of the owners.

The rooms are very large compared to European standards, nice decor really comfortable and clean( house keeping is done everyday). Cable tv with loads of sports and english channels. To top this they have free Internet connection which actually works well and it is reliable.

The buffet breakfast included in the rate is very good and tasty, giving you some local flavour loved the Goan bread, juices, strong decent coffee (not that waterish black stuff served in some properties we stayed in Rajasthan), and surprise surprise some really good pancakes didn't expect that at all.

We were fortunate to meet, the owners who made us feel so welcome and we felt we have known them forever. We think of you often when we burn the incense you gifted us,(all we did was comment that the incense in our rom was addictive and we were gifted a huge supply before we left ).The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and just perfect! Even the (minor) flaws make this gem a charmer. We will be back for sure!! already looking for cheap flights :).

Room Tip: Rooms on the pool side are quieter, rooms facing the beach have more sunlight, both tastefully done...

“Fantastic hotel with great staff and delish breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We lucked out by getting a room in Casa Candolim. The hotel is actually a house that is converted so it doesn't feel like a soulless-hilton which was great. The rooms are very large with high ceilings and very very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was modern and clean.
The staff treated us very well and showed us what Indian hospitality is all about. They made the stay totally worthwhile. Breakfast was totally delicious. The fare is more continental with pancakes, omelettes and the like but it it was fantastic. The breakfast area is by the pool and really pretty.
As advertised, it is literally a 2 minute walk from the beach.
One nice touch is that the bottles of water in the room are free. The owners did well not to nickle & dime the guests.

The only couple of minor suggestions I would provide to the management are
1. The wifi coverage is not great. The rooms on the ground floor seemed to have adequate signal strength but the rooms on the top did not get any signal at all. So, we had to go to the breakfast area to check our mail.
2. Powercuts. This may be a problem for the district in general but perhaps there could be some generators installed that kicked in if the power did not return in 5 minutes or so. The power cuts were not long but they were very frequent.

The hotel is about an hour's drive from the airport in rush hour traffic.
Overall, I would definately recommend this hotel. You can't go wrong by staying here.

“Deserves the popularity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Our third trip to Goa and the first to Casa Candolim. Our expectations were high because the place was recommended by our friends who stayed there over Christmas last year. From the moment we started corresponding with the owners it was more like chatting with old friends and it was an experience that one does not get when you call up the reservation office at a five star property. After we confirmed the booking our entire stay and program was chalked out with patience and responsibility. It was indeed a pleasure meeting the staff and owner at the hotel thereafter. Casa is very very conveniently located let me tell you. You are just a short walk away from the beach that is perhaps what makes this property popular ( apart from the superb home away from home feel ). You are also a very short walk away from some of the lovliest restaurants in north goa. The rooms were spacious, very clean and the breakfast was outstanding, a choice of continental and Indian ( which you have to pre order a day before ). It was an experience speaking with the owners who appeared to be well travelled and upto date with information. I would surely recommend this place for an experience that you might not find at 5star properties. It is simple yet unique. Thanks for taking special care of us. Look forward to return

Room Tip: We stayed in the Beach facing block, which was great but the pool block is also great since it is in...

“the People make the Place!”

We were wandering about India with no reservations, and when we showed up in Goa with no plan, we called and were thrilled to be able to get a room. We stayed in room number one, and Raju and everyone bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. We had a few of the typical India ups/downs, like power outages, but they always came in and reset our air conditioner and made sure everything was ok. The location is just a couple minute walk to the beach, it's quiet, and you can pop up to the main street in just a couple minutes too. Breakfast was all good (we weren't around for the afternoon tea), and you can order indian breakfast as long as you let them know in advance. It was a great respite after noisy cities and lots of travel. While you may pay a little more than some hotels, the stay is top-notch. It's a small hotel, but very trendy. Also had laundry service here, which was great, and everything came back pressed and lovely! They have earned this status!
