Lonely Planet got this one wrong in my view. The overall experience is a let down. It's a basic restaurant and the food is average. Not worth the price. Had sea food, including a pomfret for about Rs 800, but the preparation was disappointing. The fish was fresh though. And the veg dishes were oily. The Lonely Planet recommendation gets in the customers which they seem to be smugly aware of and content with.
Once you have eaten at the Red Snapper restaurant at Hotel Wild Orchid (which was comparatively cheaper as well!) on Havelock Island, this pales into insignificance and is mediocre. The Wild Orchid is probably the best restaurant in the Andamans. It's classy and while certainly not cheap, is sure worth the money.
