We had a very enjoyable stay at Nananu Beach and Dive Resort. We were there for nine days in the school holidays with our boys aged 7 and 9. The staff were just brilliant with the kids, they took them crab hunting, fish feeding, played rugby on the beach etc.
The kids caught some fish on a fishing trip so the chef cooked them up for them the next day.
Our room was lovely and spacious and very clean with a view over the sea.
The resort is in a lovely garden setting, and the beach is sheltered from the prevailing wind. There is also a nice beach on the other side of the resort. You can also walk or get dropped off at One Bay or the beach at the old backpackers lodge. We thougt the beach at the backpackers was the best beach for swimming.
The food was fantastic, with lots of local produce.
We went to the local Saturday market at RakiRaki which gives you a taste of local life and a look around the shops.
The resort is nice and quiet with an average of about twenty people at any one time when we were there. On some nights they had locals playing guitars and singing and also a couple of Kava nights and a crab race.
The wonderful staff all got to know us by name and made sure we had everything we wanted, I recommend this resort for a relaxing holiday and something a bit different from some of the bigger resorts.

“We had the best time.”

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Fiji staying at the Nananu Beach and Dive Resort. As we were unable to find much information about this resort prior to traveling, I thought I would post our report to help others who may be planning a trip to Fiji.
NBD resort was absolutely 1st class all the way, not your normal tourist resort with all of your daily activities planned for you in advance, but all the activities are available and are organized perfectly by Brad and Elena. NBD bures are all fully A/C and the generator runs 24/7. Koli the Chef will ensure that you never go hungry and the food is amazing, not the normal bland “western style” resort food that we have had in previous trips to Fiji, but an absolute variety of taste sensations and local produce. The Bures are all located high up on the ridge of the Island to maximize the sensational views and the awesome sunsets. A short walk through the gardens will have you in the restaurant/ bar area with ocean views to the east and west. A short walk down the hill will have you by the pool area and the small sandy beach. (Yes the tide does go out, it’s Fiji!) or a stroll out along the jetty to enjoy a drink in the gazebo and watch the sunset or drop of the pontoon at the end of the jetty for a relaxing swim or some snorkeling on the reef. (no need to swim over miles of sand to get to the reef here)
The main purpose of our trip was diving, and we chose a package with KaiViti dive. A very professional operation and they are the only operators who regularly service the outer reefs in the Bligh waters. Whilst the local reefs are still pretty impressive dive sites (also service by KaiViti) the outer reefs are just spectacular for the colors and the amazing soft corals.
So if you are looking for something a little bit different, very relaxing and peaceful with access to some of the best diving in Fiji then I would recommend Nananu Beach and Dive. This is a smaller resort not overrun by hundreds of people and children, that excels at quality and service ensuring your stay is what you want it to be.

Bula vinaka Brad, Elena and all of the staff at NBD.
