“Fabulous diving, fabulous resort!”

My boyfriend and I stayed here in january for a week. We were quite unlucky with the weather but had a fabulous time despite this! Jeremy the dive instructor really made our holiday! My boyfriend was doing his open water course whereas I'm already qualified and Jeremy bent over backwards to accommodate us and let me join them on the dives! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the diving was! Jeremy even delivered 2 sharks after I went on about how much I wanted to see one! Hehe!

All the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to learn our names! We had a free upgrade to a beach front bure and it was gorgeous! Loved the view from our room!

We would definitely stay here again!

“staff the only disappointment”

Thank goodness we only stayed there for three days. I can't believe the positive reviews. It is a shame that most of their guests only stayed at this resort on their trip. After a 2 and a half hour drive on horrible roads I would have thought you would have been greeted with a warmer welcome. We arrived just before lunch (the staff would know wether you are new guests or not) but to our surprise not even a heartfelt bula extremely disappointing. It is such a shame that the staff are so unfriendly as the resort itself is beautiful. The views from our bure was amazing but the food was very average (except the lovo night). There is not much to do so a visit to Raki Raki is worth it, as well as a trip to the other resort called Voli Voli. I found Voli Voli nice and the food so much nicer and cheaper. If you plan to visit Fiji at least check out my reviews from Firstlanding, The Terraces and Matamona Island. There are so many nicer and friendlier resorts so in my opinion give this resort a miss. I have visited Fiji 12 times so I do understand Fijians (as I am married to one) and unfortunately the staff here let the resort down big time.

Dear Fiji88,
Thank you for your review of your recent sty at Wananavu. I am sorry that, given all the other positive reviews we've recently received, that we obviously got it so wrong with your family. We do pride ourselves on our service levels - as the other reviews reveal - and I will certainly be investigating as to why anyone was given less than perfect service.
Unfortunately the road is not in the best condition but there is very little we can do except pass on reviews such as yours to the relevant authorities - the journey does, however, give one a true insight into everyday Fiji and many stretches are very pretty indeed.
I am also sorry you felt the food was very average - again we have had many very positive reviews on this in the past.
It seems you were also not particularly happy with the room, the sleep quality and the location as you marked these down as well - is there more we should be aware of to improve our overall level of satisfaction.
I am glad you enjoyed the resort and the lovo and we will be sure to try and rectify those areas where we let you down.
Once again, thank you for visiting & for your comments.

“Wananavu means "awesome"”

Spent 2 nights with family (wife, myself and 2 teenage boys) in January 2012. From the moment we arrived it was smiles and greetings (Bula) all along from all staff. Facilities, rooms, service, food and staff are all top notch. No TV nor phones in rooms means that you can literally get away from it all if you are prepared to travel without your mobile phone. Location is remote and the roads leading to the resort require a lot of tolerance but it is well worth the hike. There are a lot of activities available - some free and some at a cost so weather permitting you cannot get bored. The resort is by the waters edge but not really a swimming beach so best to make use of the resorts superb pool. Breakfast was freshly made and excellent with a lot of variety. As other reviewers have pointed out the resort is spread out so some walking is required to get around from the rooms to all facilities. If on a budget, then go to Rakiraki and buy some groceries and self cater but remember to go early as the town shuts at around 5.00 p.m.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms near the reception if you do not want to walk too far to all facilities.

Georgeous spot, lovely rooms ,immaculate, great food---but especially notworthy--the staff. Beyond friendly and helpful. We are Ny Giants fans--and found ourselves in Fiji for the NFC championship. The manager arranged for us to see game in the owner's georgeous villa (he was away.)
Unfortunately we encountered a monsoon with serious flooding preventing us from getting to airport as scheduled; the manager made every effort to get us out--which he did successfully the following day.
If you're looking for a laidback beautiful resort with Fijian wecome this is it.

“Fabulous relaxing holiday!”

Definitely recommend going to Wananavu Beach Resort if you are looking for a relaxing Fiji vacation. We stayed in a Beach Bure and our front door was looking onto the ocean. The staff could not have been more friendly and the food was great! Also excellent scuba diving and activities right at the resort.

Room Tip: Beach Bure has a great view of the ocean.
