On balance I enjoyed the Morgana, it is a handsome complex with large comfortable rooms, lovely gardens, and helpful friendly staff. Airco of course although not needed in December.
The restaurant is really not the best. I've stayed in other "Red Sea resorts" and I know Egyptians can do better. But then perhaps you must remember you are in the middle of a Desert, they say the food has to be air freighted from Cairo. On the plus side the food is sort of OK (chicken is good) just not Gourmet and it didn't make me sick.
To make up for that the Hotel is all inclusive, free drinks the whole day long.
The real Jewel in the Crown, is the marvelous coral reef right on the beach. I was swimming in December, Brisk winds can make you think its cold, but trust me once you get in its lovely.
Be cautioned though you must wear Swimming shoes or flippers, and in my opinion you’d be crazy not to use a Snorkel mask, the alien and multicoloured world of tropical fish is now yours to admire.
rumours of the Hotel being "rotten with Russians" are entirely unfounded, probably arising from misunderstanding, We met plenty of good and normal folk from both Russian and Ukraine, Best leave your prejudice at home.
