“Return Visit”

Hi we stayed at this lovely Hotel in Nov two years ago, and found it fantastic for a get away from it all break, the rooms were lovely, with great wet room type shower and bathrobes provided, to us a luxury. The resort is quiet, but thats what we like, and the little train picks you up for a visit to the village. If you want Discos and nightlife then this is not for you, but if you want a lovely position, great views on all sides, decent food, cleanliness and chillax then book it. We have booked again for March 20th and we dont normally visit the same Hotel twice but we feel its just what we need after the cold winter. My sister inlaw from Canada has also booked again with us as she also had a great holiday and the Canadians are fussy!

A party of 8 over 60's, we stayed at the Intercontinental for a week from 31st January 2012. We had an excellent time, considering the hotel was at only one third occupancy there was no cut back on the main restaurant facilities and the variety of food was wonderful. Hotel was spotless, staff were friendly and cheerful, bedrooms are spacious and very clean. The entertainment in the evening could be better but as there was a group of us we made our own fun. Management are very accessible in event of any problems and genuinely seem to want you to have the best holiday ever !! Taba airport is dreadful, coming home we were delayed for 3 hours because of a sandstorm but were not told anything by the airport's staff. Airport is very cold and very expensive as well as uninformative, maybe a good idea to keep reps contact number until you get home !!
( For female handbag shoppers) the shop in the Hotel is cheaper than the shop in the village !

Room Tip: Room numbers 1200 upwards have sea and pool view and are close to the restaurant.

“FANTASTIC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Probably like most people always meaning to write a review but somehow never get round to it but this time thought I really must make the effort.
Just like the previous reviews this Hotel is fantastic and the staff AMAZING I have been to hotels who have had some great staff and also some not so great but every single member of staff in this hotel were great nothing was too much trouble for any single one of them.
We were up graded to a pool view when we arrived which was very nice.
Food in the restaurant was very good the pasta man who knew I only wanted garlic oil on my pasta or gnocchi and the omlette man who had my mushroom and cheese omlette ready every morning, sorry guys don't know your names cannot read your name badges without my glasses. I just have a small complaint, sorry, I do not eat meat and after having some of your wonderful soups decided to ask what the base was only to be told it was chicken stock which quite upset me, It would be really helpful if a green V could be put next to dishes that did not contain any meat products.
There are some great barmen who remember your drink and your room number after 1 day, a special mention to Ahmed in the splash bar hope all goes well with the birth of your baby and also to Diaa in Arches bar who worked so very hard and to the guys in the lobby bar too.
My partner loves the golf course (we have stayed in the Sophitel before) the staff there always found him someone to play with.
We had a little mix up on checking out some people got an hour (30/55mins) free time in their room after check out time (they were not members of any special club) we were not offered this and paid for 2 hours.
Lastly have to mention the Managers leaving party on your final night what a lovely touch this was all managers there asking your opinion along with all kinds of drinks and some wonderful canapes.
All in all this was a fantastic holiday , the hotel and staff cannot be faulted in any way and I would certainly recomend it to anyone.
We loved it and hope to return later in the year, maybe with family.

What a wonderful compliment to the team! Thank you for sharing and thank you for your input in regards to your meal preference. Will look into this with Chef Gilbert and Elias our FB Director! We have already fixed the vegetable "omlette making" :o)

“Fabulous Week of Luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Just returned from the Intercontinental and we loved every minute of it. Food great and hotel and staff fabulous. My husband can find the food a bit challenging because he's fussy but there was always something for him and if all else failed he loved the freshly made pasta bar where you could have what you wanted made up! We don't go looking for evening entertainment preferring to sit in a bar for comfort and conversation with other people and the lobby bar fitted this perfectly. Excellent attention from the staff we never had to wait for anything.
The grounds, pool and beach immaculately kept and when we went to the welcome meeting we were greeted by and introduced to all the management team and department heads, even the head chef and head of security. All of the management team were very visible in the hotel and always walking round checking that everyone was happy - I have never seen this before and a nice touch.
Our only disappointment was nothing to do with the hotel just the weather was not as good a usual. We have both come back with lovely tans after a week but it was a bit windier than expected so the sea was a bit rough so we didn't go snorkeling like we normally would do.
The hotel was only about half full it is such a shame that more people aren't visiting at the moment.
I would also echo the previous reviewers comments about Taba Airport it is not fit for purpose it needs an upgrade. This was only highlighted because we had a delay due to the weather and had to spend more time in it than usual otherwise probably wouldn't even have noticed!
Thank you Intercontinental we had a lovely break.

Your are welcome!
Thank you for the friendly words and for spreading it in the public domaine! We will share those also with the team who makes all the difference. While we are passing on your comments in regards to the airport, we can almost certainly guarantee that the weather will be better next time around. It has been an unusually overcast-ed week and we returned back to normal again... so you are welcome anytime to re-fresh this tan of yours!

“Very pleasant last time we stayed.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

We will be visiting the InterContinental Hotel for a second time from the 14th Feb 2012 and look forward to having as good a time as our previous stay.I just hope our room is facing the sea this time and not the mountains as it would be pleasant to have a different view.On our last stay we found all the staff and food to be wonderful and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel highly enough to anybody.
