“Dear Manager, pls. look at your reception people hospitality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2009

It would be very nice hotel if all the people who works there will be directed to do best for guests as the management do.
We arrived at night to May, 8. My frieds had received the room 5204, for me the receptionist gave 2222 room keys. We asked them to make for us rooms near each other. They told that hotel is overloaded.
For the all next days till May, 16 the room 5205 (next to my friends) was free! We were told that it is occupied, that this is suit room (lie), that they have no time to do this for us.
Dear manager,
is more 10 dollars for your people more interesting than next guests for your hotel?!

“Holiday Resort Taba - Awful Do Not Go, no matter how cheap”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2008

We (a family of 3) were very very disappointed on arrival at this hotel. The room needed a lot of updating, the curtain was falling off the wall, the fridge was broken, and the safe could be picked up and carried out of the room. When we complained the staff could see no problem!!

The food was repetitive, horrible and boring. All inclusive drinks included disgusting local wine, beer served in egg cup sized glasses, and local gut-rotting spirits.

The pool was nice between 13-00 and 15-00 when the music and annimation team took lunch, otherwise it was "gangsta rap" and abusive hip-hop - " I smell [---]" is not really suitable song for family holidays!!

The diving was a PADI dive centre, but apparently they have never heard of the PADI dive standards. There was no safety brief given, dive plan given...as a dive instructor PLEASE BEWARE!!

Final statement would be stay at home even if the uk weather is terrible. You can do better for this amount of money.

Thanks!

“The only for transit”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2008

The luxury prison. Taba Heights is really desert on Sinai. Nowhere to go, you can only spend time in hotel area. No offer for reasonable prices trips. Of course they have an offer , but prices are horrible.
Be prepare for expenisive holiday if you have HB , not AI. Each cup of coffee costs about 5 $! The small glass of coke - 5 $!
Anyway - the garden and hotel area is nice but it is no enough to spend there more than two days.

Food - like above - not so bad if you plan be in for transit, not longer stay than 2 days - for short relax on sunbath.

“Wacky Land”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2008

Overall I'd say this hotel is of a good standard, our problem was not with the hotel in itself but the location. BEWARE. It is in the middle of nowhere. the next town along will cost you about 450 le in a very overpriced taxi as the only taxi service availible is the company the hotel uses. EVERYTHING in the hotel is completely monopolised. there is 1 snack shop, 1 'restaurant', 1 bar etc and because the nearest town- nuweiba- is about a half hour drive you are forced to spend approx 3 GBP on a packet of pringles- at the supermarket in egypt a big packet of crisps shoudl cost no more than 15 p!

apart from that the hotel staff are very nice and do whatever they can do ensure you have a pleasant stay. there is NOTHING to do in the hotel except for watch tv on the big screen outside and the hotel club at night where about 3 guests go to which plays outdated typical 'holiday' music. the private beach that belongs to the hotel isn't very clean there are lots of big rocks however the hotel has it's own diving centre so snorkelling and day trips can be arranged through here.

as for the food- this is a main concern wherever you go in egypt. breakfast is fine- large selection of fresh bread, cheeses salads and freshly cooked omlette's and pancakes however dinner is a bit of an issue it's always rice and some sort of stew. beware- lots of meat. my boyfriend was a vegetarian and literally couldn't eat anything. Dinner does get very repetitive and it's pretty bland.

the rooms are cleaned daily there is a safe in teh room and they are all of a good, clean and new standard, new nicely tiled bathrooms most with a lovely sea view at no extra charge.

all in all this htoel is great if you want to go somewhere amongst canyons and the desert completely cut off from the outside world and just relax by teh pool/beach all day and go to sleep at night. there are no restaurants nearby so if you don't go all inclusive expect to pay about £2 for a can of coke and expect to starve at lunch/dinnertime unless you pay for a meal at the hotel restaurant.

all the guests are russian/eastern european- i'm no bigot but on average they were really very rude treated the hotel staff absolutely appallingly but they keep themselves to themselves.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, large expanse of hotel with nice gardens, friendly staff
  • Disliked — location, other guests, food.
