Are first time to taba and sofitel hotel, stayed in room 3120 near the quiet pool loved it room was kept spotless and everything changed every day, food excellent loved mohamid in bar (peter Andrea look alike)the guy at the pool and bar couldnt do enough for us and everyone in restaurant are lovely, a bit cold not been away in jan/early feb before but still got a good tan everything wasnt open but to be fair hotel was only half full, would recommend this hotel and resort totally a shame thompsons are not flying from manchester to taba next year

Room Tip: familys need to ask for big pool, older couples need to ask for quiet pool

“Another excellent, relaxing holiday!”

We went for the 2nd time in late January. Weather was sunny but, with a bit of a breeze. Still tanned well though! Room this time was in block 3 (last time was block 2). Lovely room - very spacious and fab views across the bay. Spotlessly clean both in room and around resort. Staff are brilliant - extremely helpful when needed, and not 'in your face' when you don't. Lovely to see Dena and Rashid again in the restaurant - glad to say they remembered us from last time. Mohammed 'Peter Andre' in the bar is brilliant as usual - glad to see his '6 pack' is still living up to expectations (you have to ask him...) All in all a fabulous spot, and excellent value for money with a team that are outstanding in every way!

“Better than ever.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We went for the third time on the third week of January. Sunny but a bit colder than we expected, - we went in Feb and Nov last time. There was a cool northerly breeze for a few days but we still got a great tan. Lovely clean and spacious room and a very impressive hotel with stunning views, really well trained straff - always anxious to please and with an ever present smile. The manager always in evidence - on the prowl and checking all was well. Good to see.
Snorkelling very enjoyable - despite the best efforts of the Russians to break all the rules. The food was better, - still perhaps not really 5 star, but you'd be pretty fussy not to find something you liked, and once again absolutely no tummy problems. A very good deal for all inclusive, no sign at all of any 'political' trouble, and we felt very safe there, far away from any city problems and no pushy sales hassle. (Thank goodness). Taba airport was an experience, - a wartime desert airfield with a small but effective terminal. Shame there was only one man available to stamp 250 passports but ....
We will go again. Tip. Get up early and enjoy the sunrise, and get sunbathing - the sunset is behind the mountain and it goes dark early in the winter.

Room Tip: Blocks 1 and 2 have a sea view and are great. Block 3 is quieter, newer and also has great rooms.

“Lovely relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. Towels changed on a daily basis and always plenty of hot water. Hairdryer in the bathroom flat screen tv in the bedroom with an okay selection of English speaking channels we even managed to pick up the free wi fi in our room. There is the use of a free safe for passport mobile I pod and I pad etc. which you key in your own 4 digit code.

Pool area was clean and towels could be changed daily. There is a selection of pools but the heated one was still too cold for me :(

The main restaurant offered a good selection of different foods with a theme each evening I.e Asian night, English night etc. During lunch there was an excellent salad selection if you dont fancy pizza and fries at the poolside restaurant. Don't worry if you are a fussy eater, just mention it to the staff, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

The hotel offers a gym which was surprisingly well equipped. Entertainment of an evening was very good with the animation team putting a lot of effort into making the evening an enjoyable one.

Drinks on the all inclusive were of course local brand and served until 11 o'clock, but we had no problems getting served at the bar, my only criticism was they were a bit too generous with the measures :)

There is not much to do in the resort unless you are a golfer, but you can have a good walk along the sea front and around the resort area and feel very safe.

There are a number of trips that you can book, Siani by starlight, boat trips, Cairo and Petra. Petra is a magical place to visit but it is a very long day so if you plan on doing it remember good walking shoes and some warm clothes.

This is our second visit to the Sofitel and would certainly holiday here again as it offers a lovely relaxing holiday. Let's hope we can get a flight from Manchester!

P.s don't think you can get anything from Taba airport in the way of duty free or gifts, choice is very limited so you will be very disappointed. Toilets at the airport are clean but there is only one kiosk serving drinks and food.

You will have great time

Room Tip: Block 1 overlooks the pool area and has a view of the sea, Jordan and Saudi Arabia
