just back after a two week break, searching for winter sun, which we defentalely got. so i'll get to the impotant things, listing them under good and bad.
good........
hotel is very clean
its in a good location
not far from the beach
not too far from the hub of things
most of the staff i.e pool guy, waiters, cleaners were great
private taxi, reasonably priced,{ believe me you will be glad he is there]
free beach towels, so no need to travel with one
mcdonalds next door { again you might be glad}

bad.......
only some rooms have a balcony, therefore it was like a very nice prison cell, very dark
not allowed to bring food in even although they dont sell crisps and things
only one pool out of the three that is worth sitting at as the others dont get the sun for long.
beach that you are allowed to use belongs to another hotel, way overcrowded, and again you have to buy there food and drink
not good to witness staff being assaulted by there superiors
food is definately geared towards the eastern europeans{ i ate carrots and bread for nearly two weeks, my partner had soup}
go bed and breakfast as its cheaper to eat out { pomodoro, mahoneys} great restaurants in naama bay
really boring at night, everyone seems to disapear, unless you are lucky enough to get the same arabian dancers, and a guy that spins for ages three nights in one week!
the main staff i.e reception and manager dont really have much to do with you, as we left it was only the security guard that said goodbye

so i hope this is helpfull, i could have put more but that would have been picky.

This was our second visit to this hotel, returning because we were so impressed with our stay last year. We were not disappointed, the standards and service were as good as last year.
It is a small hotel in comparison to some of the other etablishments in Naama Bay, but this gives you the personal touch that is missing from a lot of hotels these days.
It is peaceful, and yet within walking distance you can find yourself in the middle of the lively town where you can join in the fun or just wander around watching life go on.
The only thing left to say is, if you want an enjoyable holiday go to this hotel you will not be disappointed.
We will be going again next year, and can't wait.

As always I use to spend some time on Tripadvisor just to make sure that the hotel is what we want, and this hotel was no exceptance.
It is located 5 minutes walk away from the beach. You must cross a road, and it is the only downside for this hotel. The positive thing about the location is that its very quite, and away from the noisy and irritatingToni Braxton-bands playing at every beach-club.
We had a standard room with balcony, and it was very clean and spacious with flat screen TV, fridge, large bed, nice bathroom, A/C and is decorated in arabic style. The swimming pools are nice, and we usually stay at the beach when we are in the Mediterranean, Thailand or elsewhere - but this time the hotel provided us with what we wanted. The beach was used for great snorkling...
The breakfast buffet is very nice, and I heard that the dinner at evening (buffet) is good.
The service at this hotel is also superb, and they do more than necesarry....
Outside the hotel it is Starbucks, McDonalds and other shops. We had no problems getting food, water or snacks into the hotel, even though the hotel rules says it is not allowed.. Just smile and say "good evening" and so on...and you are good to go!

Just came back home after a one week stay at the Hotel Oriental Rivoli.

Booked the hotel after reading the good reviews at tripadvisor, but we must admit that we were a bit disappointed.

First of all we could only book a standard room since our travel agency had no more rooms with a balcony. But after reading the reviews in here we were sure we could only upgrade when we got there so we booked the room anyway. Unfortunally there were no rooms with a balcony available during our one week stay there, so we were stucked in dark room with no windows. The refridgerator hardly work, the aircon was very noisy and the water preassure in the shower was very low as well.

An other thing that annoyed us was the ridiculous rule that it's not allowed to bring any food or drink from the outside into the hotel area. Going to the beach we always brought a big bag with us to have towels etc. and when we went back to the hotel the guard would check our bag for food.

The positive things with this hotel was a clean and spacious poolarea with great sunbeds. Most of the staff was also very helpful. We liked Mustafa in the poolbar best! Nice man! :-)

Just got back from Oriental Rivoli and first trip to Sharm. Hotel - good size - not too big so there was a nice personal touch. Staff very helpful particularly those handing out flannels and fixing things. We had to ask a couple of times to have flannels as they weren't automatically replaced each day but did get them very promptly when we asked. This was a small irritation. They also took away my daughter's big towel which she brought but she could not bear to complain as she felt bad about someone searching hundreds of towels to find hers. She can easily replace this and probably should not have taken a white towel in the first place. Yes it would have been nicer to have bigger towels especially in the land of such good quality cotton. O verall staff lovely and Totty was great making us laugh and although he could be annoying he is a nice bloke underneath all his hyped up personality. I think he wants to be Jamaican! Mustapha at the other pool bar also very pleasant to deal with and his lovely smile at all times. We had Bed and breakfast and glad we did as we ate out around the area but the night we did have dinner was very good. Agree coffee at breakfast not great but you could not say the food wasn't plentiful and varied. Having seen Nama bay at night we were glad to get back to the peace and tranquility of this hotel. Yes there is a McDonalds nearby but really do you come to Egypt for this other than if you are desperate or Claire;s accessories for that matter.

I would return again definitely.
