This was our first trip to Egypt. We stayed at the Aqua Blu from 9th Jan to 16th Jan 2012. There were 13 of us in total ( 6 adults and 7 children from 3yrs to 13yrs). Plus one adult in a wheelchair. My mum seemed to be able to access everything she needed 2 with my nan being in a wheelchair, although she did mention some of the ramps were a bit too steep and some curbs too high, but i suppose that cant be helped. The waiters in the Asian restaurant were amazing, they always made sure there was a table ready for my Nan, so helpful. Thank you so much :)
The Egyptian people are soo friendly.
The rooms were fine, comfortable beds, flatscreen TV. A fridge stocked up with water every day, and rooms cleaned daily.
The waterpark was outstanding, the kids had so much fun (so did the adults;). Lifeguards are very friendly. Kids club was fab, we only used this twice though. The wave pool was very warm. They have a raft ride which is great fun. You dont need to take towels with you as you get massive towels from the hut, clean everyday.
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the alcohol, wayyyy too strong and tasted a bit funny lol. There's plenty of cocktails to choose from though, and the barmen in the reception bar are a great laugh. My partner said the beer was fine.
I dont know why some people on here complain about the lack of entertainment in the evening, the kids disco is fine and to be honest there's so much to do through the day I cant see why anyone would want to stay up late, i was shattered lol. There's plenty of chill out area's
We did a lot of trips, i would definitely recommend sinai safari the only british run company. Very reliable and professional, great communication too.
We went to Naama Bay one evening, all I can say is OMG crazy aint the word, u cant walk two steps without being approached, it became quite funny after a while. They were only trying to get you to go into their bar. I think I would have liked to have experienced it properly but without the kids maybe.
I wouldn't recommend going around to the shops outside the hotel, not with children anyway, you get hassled a lot and at one shop my two oldest daughters felt VERY uncomfortable!! I didn't actually go to Old Sharm but my mum went with my nan and 3 kids and they loved it, had some fab bargains :)
The weather through the whole stay was beautiful, we all came back with a tan, the evenings are a little chilly but all you need is a thin jacket.
I cant say enough positive things about this place....If we went back to Sharm we wouldn't go anywhere other than Aqua Blu :)
