“First Visit to Sharm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

This was our first trip to Egypt. We stayed at the Aqua Blu from 9th Jan to 16th Jan 2012. There were 13 of us in total ( 6 adults and 7 children from 3yrs to 13yrs). Plus one adult in a wheelchair. My mum seemed to be able to access everything she needed 2 with my nan being in a wheelchair, although she did mention some of the ramps were a bit too steep and some curbs too high, but i suppose that cant be helped. The waiters in the Asian restaurant were amazing, they always made sure there was a table ready for my Nan, so helpful. Thank you so much :)
The Egyptian people are soo friendly.

The rooms were fine, comfortable beds, flatscreen TV. A fridge stocked up with water every day, and rooms cleaned daily.
The waterpark was outstanding, the kids had so much fun (so did the adults;). Lifeguards are very friendly. Kids club was fab, we only used this twice though. The wave pool was very warm. They have a raft ride which is great fun. You dont need to take towels with you as you get massive towels from the hut, clean everyday.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was the alcohol, wayyyy too strong and tasted a bit funny lol. There's plenty of cocktails to choose from though, and the barmen in the reception bar are a great laugh. My partner said the beer was fine.

I dont know why some people on here complain about the lack of entertainment in the evening, the kids disco is fine and to be honest there's so much to do through the day I cant see why anyone would want to stay up late, i was shattered lol. There's plenty of chill out area's

We did a lot of trips, i would definitely recommend sinai safari the only british run company. Very reliable and professional, great communication too.

We went to Naama Bay one evening, all I can say is OMG crazy aint the word, u cant walk two steps without being approached, it became quite funny after a while. They were only trying to get you to go into their bar. I think I would have liked to have experienced it properly but without the kids maybe.
I wouldn't recommend going around to the shops outside the hotel, not with children anyway, you get hassled a lot and at one shop my two oldest daughters felt VERY uncomfortable!! I didn't actually go to Old Sharm but my mum went with my nan and 3 kids and they loved it, had some fab bargains :)

The weather through the whole stay was beautiful, we all came back with a tan, the evenings are a little chilly but all you need is a thin jacket.

I cant say enough positive things about this place....If we went back to Sharm we wouldn't go anywhere other than Aqua Blu :)

“3rd time and better than ever!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

This was our 3rd time at Aqua Blu and was overall an improvement on previous stays. We were here for three weeks and had a great time. The room was comfortable and clean and where we requested, near to the Med/Asiatique restaurants (rooms beginning with 7)

The food was good at the Mediteranean, Asiatique and Italian restaurant with us opting not to use the Cave De Roi as it is very hectic and was furthest away from our room. There was plenty of choice, the Kebabs at L'Asiatique on Thursday night are very good!

The hotel has 2 new bars since our last visit in 2011, including the Biliard Bar which was completed whilst we were there. There is also a new coffee bar serving cakes and ice cream. The beer (Sakora) and wine was good, we didn't bother with the spirits. The range of spirits could be better as it is limited to vodka, gin, rum, bacardi, brandy, whisky and a handful of cocktails. Would expect to see Malibu, peach scnapps etc added to the range in the future. Champions pub, just outside the hotel is good and good value as you can use the internet and play pool for free.

There is a new childrens swimming pool with slides and bar. Kids free ice cream is now served here and the Elephant Bar by the other kids pool has been removed. The wave pool, at the centre of the complex is the place to be, but you need to be up early to get a seat here!! Elsewhere there are plenty of sun loungers.

Some of the rooms were being refurbished whilst we were there and there seems to be a general programme of repair and renewal in place with various ares being touched up. The Cowboy Bar (late disco) was also being refurbished whilst we were there.

The entertainment was better than last year with the Fakir show a highlight. Mini Disco is every evening at around 8:00pm which is good for the younger kids.

I would suggest booking a transfer to the hotel online as haggling at the airport on arrival is the last thing you want and you can easily be stung for £30. The hotel now has its own taxis so getting about is quite cheap, LE30 to the Old Market and LE150 for a taxi to the airport for 4 people with 4 cases and 4 cabin bags.

Overall a good stay, steadily improving qualty and facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value for the price and we hope to return again in the future.

“Could not fault this hotel and its not like we're not picky!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We returned end of January and could not fault this hotel. I honestly don't know where some people usually eat - The Ivy?! We could not fault the food at all and it was some of the best food that we have experienced at an all inclusive resort.
We are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 4 years old and a 6 month old baby). Not 1 of us had a dicky tummy. The fact that you could get plenty of bottled water from all the restaurants and housekeeping stocked the fridge up daily made it easy to drink "safe" water. The hotel was spotless as were the rooms and all the staff worked tirelessly to endeavour that we had a brilliant time. All the staff were fantastic with the kids and always were friendly and called us "Boss". I agree with what other people have said that if you treat them with respect you will get it in return I never saw any staff member being less than civil even when some of the british were being with them. Yep Mohammed was a bit pushy with the trips but he was also helpful with the local information so cut him some slack he is just trying to make a living and a simple "no thanks" is suffice.
The top kiddies pool was quite cold so wasn't heated nor was the quiet pool by the 8 water bungalows but the rest of them were fine and the smaller kiddies pool at the main complex was lovely and warm.
We were upgraded to one of the water bungalows which was massive and stunning, we didn't have a cot in it when we first arrived but a call to reception and just ten minutes later a guy came with one with sheets and it wasn't just a travel cot it was a proper solid wood sturdy cot. Also there was no plug for the bath but again after asking at reception the next day we had one delivered, well it fit the sink but again after explaining ourselves again they returned promptly with a bath one. Like most places they do really well understanding and speaking English far better than my egyptian which does not exist so how can you have a go at them for not being fluent in English like some people have on this site. I also received a lovely chocolate cake in our room for my birthday and the bed had been scattered with flowers and a personalised scroll had been left for me, it was such a lovely touch. And no-one had prompted them to do it.
It is a bit scruffy just outside the hotel and on the way to the beach but again its Egypt so you have to expect it not to be as clean as England.
The shops just outside the hotel are great, really helpfull and not that expensive even for pampers nappies which were about £3 for 9, which was much better than what I had thought as I was running low the last couple of days.
The rose wine was nice and so was the beer and the coffee's and cakes at the coffee bar opposite the Asian restaurant were gorgeous, better than a Costa!
All in all we got a cheap late deal and I can honestly say that I would have quite happily paid brochure price for this hotel, its great for the kids and for us bigger kids!! Can't comment on the nightlife as after a full day on the slides we were all shattered by 9pm. We would be hard pushed to beat this holiday however our 4 year old might expect this standard of holiday everytime now!!

“Excellent hotel & water park - could not fault it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed at Aqua Blu Sharm in February 2012 for 11 nights and it was even better than we expected. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food in all the restaurants was excellent. We especially liked the Indian / Chinese restaurant where the chefs were actually from India and China so the food was very authentic. I would even go as far as to say it was the best curry I had ever had and the tandoori chicken and shish kebabs were the best as well. Also the pizzas in the Italian restaurant were great. The staff were lovely and bent over backwards for us.
The water park is the best one we have ever been to and believe me we have been to ones all over the world. If I can pick one fault it would be that they were not all heated and it was a bit of a shock when you hit the water on a few of them but really it just added to the fun of it!
The kids pools and slides were brilliant. We took our 3 year old and he absolutely loved it.
We had one of the best holidays ever at this resort and we are looking to book again for later in the year. I would highly reccomend it to anyone but especially families with children.
