Just returned from a two week all inclusive stay at this hotel with mixed feelings.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS/ROOMS
After a 7hour delay when we arrived at the hotel we were told that there are "special rooms for the english" , The room we were given must have been the worst in the hotel which i can only describe as worse then a hostel. It was dirty, dated, very dark with a toilet that ran constantly and leaked all over the floor. One night in this room was enough, so the next morning i asked to move. Withinn an hour we were moved to what seemed to be the best room in the hotel, it certainly had the biggest balcony any way! The second room was large and very nicely decorated with everything in full working order and a very comfy bed, not to mention the massive balcony with two sun loungers and four chairs overlooking the pool.
CLEANLINESS
Hotel was always very clean (other then our first room), the only issue we had with the cleaning staff is that they often didnt get to out room untill 5-5.30pm at which time we were wanting a knap before dinner and nightlife so had to send him away quite alot.
STAFF
The restuarant, bar, recreation and cleaning staff are all very nice and extremely agreeable we had a good laugh with many of them. They dont hound you for tips but a smile an some manners go a long way as the russians and italians seem quite rude! The reception staff however are some of the rudest people i have ever met not to mention unhelpful. On checking out after handing them money not even a thankyou or thankyou for staying with us or hope you enjoyed your stay!
Most of the staff speak many lanuages including arabic, italian, russian and english. The hotel is mostly full of italians and russians so as you can imagine they are much better at those languages then english but they know enough for a general conversation, also in the two weeks we were there the improved their english alot.
FOOD/ALL INCLUSIVE
food was always edible but not that great and certainly very repeatative. Breakfast always and egg/pancake station but we never tried this and toast sausages, tomatoes, fruit, teas, coffees juices etc. Lunch pretty bland seemed to be dinners leftovers really but always pasta, spagetti station and most of the week pizza and chis which was fresh. Dinner same pasta station with buffet of rice meat/ fish selection and veg. Always a large selection of dessert but didnt try this as they were left uncovered and i wasnt sure about gettin ill. As for the famous egypt belly, me and my partner both suffered a little bit but we didnt come across anyone in sharm who didnt. Just be sure to take plenty of immodium, or go to a pharmacy in sharm and ask for antinal which is thier local equivlent and dont pay more then 10 LE.
Drinks on all inclusive.....in the restuarant you can have all softdrinks and bottled water unlimited plus beer and wine (red or white no rose). Out of the restuarant although there are 3 bars at this hotel all inclusive is only availible at one (LOKI Bar) which seems like a unecessary faff to walk from one pool from another. Also you cant even take your all inclusive drinks from loki bar up to dada roof bar, if you want to drink there you have to pay for your drinks! Drinks availible are all local spirits wine and beer but all fairly drinkable. One thing to watch out for is that on the all inclusive concept it states bottled water is availible at breakfast lunch and dinner but in the resturant they only give it to you for lunch and dinner and try to make you pay for it at breakfast.
LOCATION
Hotel in an excellent location only about a 5min walk from town center close enough to not need a taxi far enough away to not hear all the nightlife noise if you want an early night.
POOLS
Two pools at this hotel and never had a problem getting a sun lounger at either of them. First pool by the loki bar is heated with a volley ball net. The other by the pool bar isnt heated with some stools in the water you can lay on to catch some sun, we preferred this pool eventhough we had to walk to the other bar to get drinks. However there is a massage guy that pesters you by this pool trying to sell you a treatment for ONLY 400LE which is extortionate, a firm no sent them away though. Also music played all day through the speakers at pool bars is like a love songs greatest hits cd which can get a bit annoying but atleast its in english which probably kept us sane!!!
GENERAL
Although this hotel is nice enough, i wouldnt go back to it. As there werent really any other english people at the hotel we found ourselves going out every night instead of spending a few nights in at the bar like we planed which REALLY effected our budget.
I think that pretty much sums it up but if you have any questions feel free to email : )
