We first visited the Hotel in March 2011 ,At the time it was all going off in Cairo and other parts of Egypt, but can i say it was a "uprising" involving the people of Egypt and Independance from a military state and not against the tourist !
On this occassion we arrived through the time of the election of a new goverment which the uprising had produced,, though from our point ,as holidaymakers you would not have known it was going on !
The hotel had not changed which was no surprise except this time i had emailed the manager "Ibrahim" asking him if we could be allocated around the large swimming pool where the Animation (entertainment ) was and on our arrival, we were given a stocked fridge with a large bowl of fresh fruit and the apartment we asked for ! (result)
.WiFi was free and avaiable in the large reception areas which we made use of , very handy.
The weather during the day was around 24c but dropped a bit after around 6pm .We have been to Sharm a lot this end of the year, so always take a light jacket or top for going out in the evening. Lots of Russian holiday makers around this time but Sharm caters well for the English , Russian and Italian visitors. The hotel food is, if anything the negative at the "Sharm Holiday" . I had eaten more pasta this time, more than any other . My wife does not mind pasta or salad stuff so she is quite happy with the food , but things like mashed spuds "if your in luck" are seldom seen !
Room service good , clean towels everyday but the room only made up once a day unlike some of the 5 star Hotels where you get a evening visit as well.
Location is a plus! ,350 metres and your in "town" so to speak with the bars , shops , restaraunts etc . Night clubs : £20 Pasha, £15 Little Buddha and i think the Hard Rock are doing a all inclusive now as well.
Recommend : Tavern Bar for tv sports most Premier League covered. Camel Club has Tv sports and modern Bars. (personally i think the Camel Club Bar has lost a lot of its charm . It used to be full of the diving fraternity after a hard days diving, having fun and making a mess , drinking and general mayhem ,but now its boring and touristee ! ) Despite that "The Camel" has got the best Indian Restaraunt in the Red Sea area. All in all another enjoyable stay at the Sharm Holiday Resort.
BTW if you are into Salsa there is a bar just opposite the back entrance to the Hotel where they enjoy that sort of thing.
One more thing, this time for the first time we flew "Easyjet" from Manchester . A really nice experience and the best flights ever to Egypt so far. We will definitly will fly Easyjet again !. Unlike Thomas Cook who , on one holiday , left ours and thirty other passengers luggage in Manchester , only found that out when we arrived in Luxor ! We were on a cruise that time but they did not give a stuff .. (they took four days to get it to us eventually !) and they did exactly the same when we arrived back on return in Manchester (took another 4 days to get it back again ) Still waiting for the apology ! Be warned !
