“Christmas at Sharm Holiday Resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This hotel is more like a 3 star than a 4 star. It is very well located for Naama Bay and the staff are very attentive and helpful (particularly Soho - Health Club). My husband and I spent Christmas and New Year at the Sharm Holiday Resort, food was very average with the exception of Christmas Eve and New Years Eve when the staff really pulled the stops out to ensure that the guests had a very good night on both occasions. The New Years Eve Gala dinner was accompanied by some very good entertainment.

The resort is pleasant but basic for 4 star and lacked atmoshphere. The rooms had undergone refurbishment in the recent years but the bathroom was "tired". There were times when plates and cups were left outside of rooms for more than a day awaiting collection.

The choice of drinks as part of the fully inclusive package were limited.

Overall, we did have a good holiday but we probably would not choose to return to this hotel.

well what a lovely hotel, staff exceptional esp; ihad who kept our rooms lovely, hussain help around the pool, and george serving our drinks, cant wait to return for more relaxation and sun. food was great and so close to naama bay, bus to the two beaches are really handy. the best winter holiday weve had.i downside is the russians so aggresive never once do they say thank you to the staff, still we just ignored them so they didint make any difference to our stay. wish more english would go to egypt as cairo is so far away if there was any trouble it would not affect your stay. plus you must have the massage from ann and sohar so gooooood lol

“good hotel”

Just come back from sharm holiday resort for my husbands 50th b-day, and i must say it was great all the staff are lovely, my only negative about the hotel is the alcohol drink selection, not that we are alcoholics or anything but after being out all day , we would fancy a little tipple of something just before tea, but the selection was awful, if you liked vodka, whiskey, you were fine, but it was egyptian and tasted watered down,
All the staff are amazing they always had smiles for you, i definately recommend a massage my daughter and i had the 2hr cleo, slept like a baby after it,
Rooms are cleaned every day, and towels are changed every day if you want them to be. the food is ok mostly catered for the russians who are very rude!!!, but i could always find , something to eat, all in all i would recommend and return to the hotel.

“Return to Sharm Again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We first visited the Hotel in March 2011 ,At the time it was all going off in Cairo and other parts of Egypt, but can i say it was a "uprising" involving the people of Egypt and Independance from a military state and not against the tourist !
On this occassion we arrived through the time of the election of a new goverment which the uprising had produced,, though from our point ,as holidaymakers you would not have known it was going on !
The hotel had not changed which was no surprise except this time i had emailed the manager "Ibrahim" asking him if we could be allocated around the large swimming pool where the Animation (entertainment ) was and on our arrival, we were given a stocked fridge with a large bowl of fresh fruit and the apartment we asked for ! (result)
.WiFi was free and avaiable in the large reception areas which we made use of , very handy.

The weather during the day was around 24c but dropped a bit after around 6pm .We have been to Sharm a lot this end of the year, so always take a light jacket or top for going out in the evening. Lots of Russian holiday makers around this time but Sharm caters well for the English , Russian and Italian visitors. The hotel food is, if anything the negative at the "Sharm Holiday" . I had eaten more pasta this time, more than any other . My wife does not mind pasta or salad stuff so she is quite happy with the food , but things like mashed spuds "if your in luck" are seldom seen !
Room service good , clean towels everyday but the room only made up once a day unlike some of the 5 star Hotels where you get a evening visit as well.

Location is a plus! ,350 metres and your in "town" so to speak with the bars , shops , restaraunts etc . Night clubs : £20 Pasha, £15 Little Buddha and i think the Hard Rock are doing a all inclusive now as well.
Recommend : Tavern Bar for tv sports most Premier League covered. Camel Club has Tv sports and modern Bars. (personally i think the Camel Club Bar has lost a lot of its charm . It used to be full of the diving fraternity after a hard days diving, having fun and making a mess , drinking and general mayhem ,but now its boring and touristee ! ) Despite that "The Camel" has got the best Indian Restaraunt in the Red Sea area. All in all another enjoyable stay at the Sharm Holiday Resort.
BTW if you are into Salsa there is a bar just opposite the back entrance to the Hotel where they enjoy that sort of thing.
One more thing, this time for the first time we flew "Easyjet" from Manchester . A really nice experience and the best flights ever to Egypt so far. We will definitly will fly Easyjet again !. Unlike Thomas Cook who , on one holiday , left ours and thirty other passengers luggage in Manchester , only found that out when we arrived in Luxor ! We were on a cruise that time but they did not give a stuff .. (they took four days to get it to us eventually !) and they did exactly the same when we arrived back on return in Manchester (took another 4 days to get it back again ) Still waiting for the apology ! Be warned !

Room Tip: be polite when you ask.

This was the third time that we had stayed in the Sharm HolidayResort having previously tried December and September. As with our previous visits the hotel did not disappoint. The staff are without a doubt the most friendly and polite that I have dealt with, nothing is too much trouble.
Mahmoud Elsayed, the customer relations manager showed just what excellent customer relations are all about,Jalal, the restaurant Manager, the chefs in the restaurant were all friendly and helpful. In summary if you want a relaxing holiday with good choice of food and drink and definitely value for money then this is the hotel to look at
