Have just returned from Star Hotel, Part of Raouf International Hotels. Part of a three hotel complex owned by a Mr. Raouf. Billed as entertainment capital of Sharm El Sheik. The hotel was virtually empty. Often only us and another couple on the flight were the only ones eating in the dining room - formica tables. ALL of the facilities except dining room and two bars were closed. Bowling Alley worked for one night. Cinema, theatre, casino and swimming pool closed. We could use pool at Sun Hotel which was also virtually empty but it was a question of finding which sun umbrella was least broken. The Moon hotel was closed down and becoming derelict. Despite having 90% of rooms empty there was no courtesey room at the end of the holiday, and we had to pay extra to keep our room on for a shower. Luckily we were only half board as the food was not too good although they seemed to cook enough for a full hotel.
The beach was good, and there was a lovely hotel up the road where we sometimes ate, and used most evenings. The Star had an Egyptian evening the only entertainment and they managed to find about a dozen guests. No balconies at this hotel
