We spent the week before Easter at The Three Corners Palmyra with our two 5 year old girls and a friend.
Our room was beautiful, simple and very clean. Towels were changed every day and often made in to wonderful animals etc, which the kids loved. We had a family room with two seperate areas, one big double bed for us and a seperate area with a bed each for the children. Our friend had a lovely room to her slef with two big double beds.
The swimming pools were great. It gets busy around the heated kids pool, and you have to be out early to bag sun loungers, but it's fun for the kids. This is also where the animation team (who were all lovely) do their dance, volleyball, ping pong etc, and where music is playing all day, so if you want peace and quite choose another pool. There are, however, 4 more pools to coose from, all really pretty and quiet.
Our kids loved the Trixy kids club and Inga was just fantastic! They were in the club from 10-12.30 and from 3-5 every day, which gave us lots of time to lie under a parasoll reading a book and relaxing.
The mini disco was also a highlight. It's on every evening in the amphitheatre, again run by Inga.
The food is really nice, lots to choose from every day. I especially enjoyed that you can have your eggs done any way you like in the morning. The wine in Egypt is undrinkable, but that is to be expected, so we brought our own to have in the room. The beer and the liquor is Ok though.
We went to the beach on the shuttle bus twice. It is a 10 minute ride and easy enough. The beach is pretty nice and the snorkelling is lovely. You can rent equipment for 40 EGP. There is a bar at the beach with free drinks for hotel guests. There is also a restaurant where you can buy lunch, should you choose to go down for the whole day. Or, if you let the hotel kitchen know the night before, they will prepare a packed lunch for you.
The hotel is literally 5 minutes in a taxi from the airport. The taxis charge at least 150 EGP for the trip though, which is crazy. I think next time we will walk out to the road and hop on one of the blue mini buses that go along and pay 2 EGP!
All the staff at the hotel are lovely and so helpful, and really friendly with the kids.
Our flight home was in the evening, and even thogh check out time was 12 noon, they let us stay and have luch and use a room to shower before we left, no extra charge. That's really great service!
The one negative would be the space in the restaurant. The week we were there wasn't that busy, but I can imagine the restaurant being extremely crowded and loud when the hotel is full! At lunch time it's OK, as you can choose to sit by the pizza oven outside, but in the evening it is very loud and a bit hectic.
Over all we had a wonderful week and we would love to recommend this hotel to anyone with kids or adults only, as you can easily get away from the noise and crowds.
Our room faced the back which was lovely and quiet, but not as pretty a view. The rooms facing the...
